Jon awoke to see that the shades on his windows were pulled down. Weird, I usually leave those up... he thought as he stood up. "Oh well, whatever." he said as he walked out of his room and went to the bathroom.
As soon as he finished relieving himself, he walked down the stairs, and that was when things got weird. All of the windows that had shades had them pulled down, and the ones that didn't were all blocked off with old sheets.
Jon walked into the living room where his parents were watching TV. Another strange thing, given how early it was. His father would usually have already left for work by now. "What's going on?" he asked.
"Apparently something has happened to the sun..." his father said. "It's changed color, and is giving off radiation that causes...changes in humans."
"It changed color? And what kind of changes?" Jon asked. This has to be because of the stone, but doesn't it have a ramge limit. The stone shouldn't be able to reach the sun.
His father pointed to the TV screen, where a reporter was just beginning a story.
"For those just joining us, we are repeating once again. The sun, for some reason, has shifted in color and now seems to be giving off a radiation that is causing humans to change. We urge all people to avoid sunlight at all costs."
That explains why the shades are all closed... Jon thought. But, what Jon really wanted to know was what color the sun had become, and what changes it was causing in humans.
Luckily, the reporter was more than happy to oblige Jon, as that was exactly what he said next.
