"Okay. So what did you have in mind for that?" Linda asked.

"Don't worry about hair. I have a great wig to go with that dress." Zoe responded, producing a long jet black wig. They pinned back Linda's real hair and positioned the wig on her head. When she looked at it in the mirror, it looked like her face was framed by a small waterfall of black ink.

Zoe gathered her makeup kit and set up in front of Linda. "No more peeking in the mirror until I'm finished. But you may want to take this last chance to say goodbye to your old mundane self."

"I don't think that will be necessary. She's not going away; she's just going to be dressed up for a little while." Linda replied.

"Don't be so sure." Zoe said. "I've been known to change a few lives, with these brushes." Zoe went about her task constantly shifting between artisanal focus, and abject glee. Linda tried to keep track of what had been applied, but found herself unable to. It was almost unbearable not being able to look in the mirror. But Zoe wanted to surprise her, and Linda didn't want to ruin her fun.
Zoe made a few final strokes and stepped back to get a good look. "Finished!" She announced excitedly.

Linda looked back over to the mirror, and was amazed by the woman she saw looking back at her. Her skin was pale white and flawless. Her eyes were lined with black liner, and shaded with a deep purple. Her cheeks were covered with angular streaks of purple blush. Finally, her lips were covered in an ombre combination with purple at the center and black along the edges.

"Wow!" Was all Linda could manage.

"How do you feel?" Zoe asked.

"Like a wicked queen." Linda replied. She spun around and gave her daughter the most sinister grin she could manage before breaking out laughing.

"We'll have to work on your regal sneer later. We should probably get on our way." Zoe said.

"You're right. We should get going. It's a shame though, since this seems like such a great opportunity to bond."

"Well if you want to dish about boys there is this one at school that I think is kinda cute. He looks better in a corset and black lipstick than I do." Zoe said laughing.

"Is this you sharing something with me, or are you messing with me?" Linda responded.

"You say that like I can't do both at once."
