Lilly went to her room after such an eventful day. The bedroom was more typical now, of her new life with an open window extending to her tree house. She opened her closet and a football fell out. She smiled a little, twirling it on her finger for a bit, vaguely remembering her life as a boy. She looked at all the other bits and pieces of her old life. It was... like looking over an old forgotten book. A book she can fondly remember, but with the knowledge that there were still unturned pages to explore.

She now had a new life, and she really liked this life. Her mother said it was okay for her to be like this, and she really wanted to be too.

There was a knock on the door "Sis?" called Stacy.

Lilly smiled. "Hi," she said eagerly. Yes, she could cope with this life, with Stacy helping her too.

It was eerie just how similar they looked. It was so obvious that they were sisters, even if one was a human and the other a weird animal-like creature. But their faces, eyes, even mannerisms all showed the close bond they had. Being of just about the same age was also very strange, to both of them. Each of them had been now both older, and younger then the other, experiencing life from the two perspectives. But now they were of equal age, twined for life...

Stacy gave an adoring smile at her new sister. "It's really nice to see you like this you know."

"Yeah... me too," said Lilly back, her twin tails twitching a little. The two of them looked almost as a strange mirror... a strange symmetry between them.

"So... did you make lots of friends?" asked Stacy tilting her head. She really wanted to know everything her new sister did.

"Uh huh!" said Lilly. "I met Jenny, Artemis, Bruce, Hannah, an' all sorts of people. An' also Jon! She's my magic teacher."

Stacy looked excited. "Oooh! Magic? Real magic? Can you teach me?"

Lilly didn't even have to think about it. "Of course sis! We're gonna be magical sisters someday!" she blushed just a bit at how... 'weird' that sounded. But still, that weirdness was sounding more right at each second she thought of it.

Stacy smiled again. "Great! Um.. jus' one small thing. I kinda... need some of my clothes back," the young girl said as delicately as she could glancing around.

Lilly blinked glancing around the room and looked embarrassed. She had been using quite a few of Stacy's clothes. "a- aah... uh..."

Stacy giggled and gave Lilly a hug. "Oh don't be shy 'bout it! I did give you em cause you needed them at the time an' I wasn't sure if I was gonna use them again. But now that I can, I don't mind sharin' em."

"Well- yeah no problem. I got all your stuff right here," explained the squirrel girl going over the drawers and wardrobe. Her mother had kept everything nice and tidy, and there was plenty of new clothes too for them- Though some of them had been modified to account for Lilly's tails, the dresses were still okay though.

Stacy went over them, taking a few clothes for herself. "Sis? Why do you even wear clothes?"

"P-pardon?" asked Lilly even more confused.

"Well... don't take this wrong. It's jus'... clothes look weird on you." She looked her furry sister in thought. She couldn't really explain 'why' though.

"It... does?" asked the squirrel girl looking down at herself. "I- well- I thought I should? Mom said I should too. I don't think I can go anywhere without clothes!"

"Lots of animal changed do," remarked Stacy. "An' I dunno. Maybe you should try it? Only if you find it more comfortable though."

Lilly just turned beat red under her fur at the very thought of it. It's not that she was embarrassed 'exactly' of what she was... but... she just didn't want people seeing what she looked like. Especially given her extra... parts. She was fine with her mother knowing she had four, and Jenny... but... telling anyone else? "I... I dunno. I don't think I can," said Lilly honestly.

Stacy however was looking at something else now. "Oh What's this!" she said finding the curious exotic clothes in Lilly's bag. "It looks so cute!"

Lilly looked over it sadly. "It's... um... it's a magic girl uniform."

"That's so cool! Why don't you wear it?"

"Well- it... it ain't... real," said Lilly quietly. "Magic girls like Jenny are special. Cause they are.... cause it's who they are. I'm jus' a... well... I can do little magics. Jon's been teachin' me some." Lilly had learned how to do many different things and all of them excited her at their potential... but could she ever be a match to a real magic girl?

Stacy gave that a little thought as she stared at her new sister some. "Little can be big you know," she said. "an' maybe you can make it stronger some day? Why don't you wear it?"

"Uh.. why?"

"Silly. You got to try it on. You're gonna grow up real big someday, an' you'll never be able to wear it then! So put it on and enjoy it."

Lilly blinked. She... never actually thought of that. This special dress wasn't going to be wearable forever. She slowly stripped off her clothes, pealing it away from her fur with a touch of static between the cloth and her body. She was aware that her sister was looking at her a little curiously. Lilly wasn't really sure if it was normal for her to change in front of her but she didn't feel any reason not to. She did feel a little shy though and didn't want her to see the extra nipples so changed quickly. If Stacy saw anything, she made no comment.

She put on the fake magic girl uniform feeling just a little bit ridiculous. But it was her own design, made from the very depths of her imagination. It fit so well and naturally. Even the 'wrongness' that Stacy remarked on before, didn't apply to this particular style.

"What else is needed to be a magic girl?" asked Stacy scratching her hair.

Lilly thought a bit about it. She had the look, the spark of magic... but something was missing. But what? "I.. guess I gotta make a promise?"

Stacy grinned. "Then make a promise..."

Lilly still felt a bit silly but relented as they sat together, facing the other on the carpet. "Okay..."

The squirrel girl wasn't really sure what to say. But slowly the words came out. She knew what she wanted to do. "I promise," she said solemnly. "To use magic only to help people in need, an' to protect everyone from monsters... an'... to guard Jenny, an Jon's an' everyone I love."

A spark of energy burst within the squirrel girl... just.. a bit of that static charge maybe? She felt even more silly now but... she meant every word. She would use magic as Jon taught her, only to help people.

Stacy hugged her sister once more.

Somewhere, far from Earth, further even then the realm of the gods... far from the world we would know as 'real', a picture of Lilly appeared... on a card.

Shadowy hands that seemed to have a multitude of fingers, that existed in extra dimensions, took hold of the card, noting the oath Lilly had taken, engraved in letters of gold. The entire card shined in rainbow light.

*"The stake is accepted... Type... Unique. The Invariant Magic Girl... Lilly Inverse."
