Ken and Steven were enjoying the night. The rat boy didn't need much sleep any more, and the plant-girl... well, she seemed okay too- so long as she got her sunlight anyway. She looked at Ken with aghast shock.

"You want to what?!" Said Steven.

Ken bit his muzzle, the rat boy looking a little guilty. "Well- that's why I invited you to the park."

"You think this is a date?! I made it clear I'm not dating you or anyone!"

Ken looked slightly cresfallen at that. The rat boy was struggling to get her... well.. basicly her scent out of his mind. Just being with the flower girl made him feel... "Wait- look just here me out. It's just... we've been friends a long time right?"

Steve looked to be fuming a little as she folded her arms. "Yeah..."

"So... well... maybe it's 'okay' for you to go out with me? After all we know eachother and-"

"So suddenly I'm a girl and my best friend wants to date me," she said quite annoyed.

Ken blushed. "Well... I do like you. And you're a girl now so... I think I kind of like you a lot and... I just thought it would be nice if we could..."

Steven turned around from him. "Ken... I'm really ticked off with you right now. I don't want to go out with you or anyone! No matter how it looks I'm still a guy inside."

"So... you want to date a girl instead?"

"Huh?! No! I don't want to date anyone!" The flower girl's top almost fell lower due to the exasperation she felt, and maintaining the strange muscles to keep the petals around her 'correctly'.

Ken looked at her with concern. It was true he wanted to help Steve. They were good friends... but why couldn't she even consider the idea that maybe...this 'could' be a good thing? She smelled so sweet, and it was like the more time he spent with her... the more he just wanted to be with her. "Please... just one date? I'll behave, I promise." He said with a grin then inched a little closer, trying to be bold- though inside was just a bundle of nerves. "I think... you're really pretty. Unless- well- you think me being a rat I'm too ugly?"

Steve turned back to Ken. "Wait- no- I didn't say that. I don't think you're ugly. You're like... Spinter."

The two shared a little laugh at that. True they both grew up watching the same shows, so they knew what they each other liked... and if Steve was to be completely honest, she liked spending time with Ken too. Even if things were so weird between them now. But having spent so long as a girl... and the fact was, she might be stuck like this...

...forever.

Ken took her hand, sensing her feelings. "I'm your friend either way... okay? I'm sorry I brought it up. It was... maybe just a wild thought you know?" He tried his best not to sound disappointed, but it came out terribly forced. How could he hide how attractive he thought the plant girl was?! How envious others were that a rat-boy of all things seemed to like him most?

Steve looked at Ken a little guiltily. Since her transformation she didn't spend her time with anyone else really. They... got on well, as well as they did before. She knew it wasn't just a wild thought. Ken... really thought... well... that they could actually... And... why did her petals seem to weaken at the thought of it?!

"Look... let me think about it."

Ken smiled happily at that. "No pressure. I just... like you. No matter what."

"Yeah yeah, I like you too," she said trying to be a bit more masculine, and maybe to make this a little less 'weird'. They were friends for goodness sakes! They complained to each other about girls! they can't have a relationship! It was just... weird! Why was she even entertaining the idea with Ken staring at her like- but wait. he wasn't staring at her. He was staring past her. Something else caught his attention. She turned but not seeing what it was. "Is something there?"

"That's weird," said Ken. "The.. stars just disappeared."

Steve looked up. "So... did the moon. Just.. a lot of cloud maybe?"

"Maybe... let's... go to my house."

"I think I'd rather go back to my-"

"My place is closer. Stay with me tonight. I just have... a bad feeling."

Steven wasn't sure what to make of it but the sky did seem.. ominous and oppressive. Maybe it was a bad idea to be out tonight.... "Yeah... okay. it will probably be okay in sunrise anyway."
