Lilly was buckled in the car as she stared more at Jon. They drove though the quiet streets. There was a curious light in the squirrel girl's eyes as she studied the strange slug girl and the way she drove. An elder girl that might teach magic someday. But she had other questions for now. "How do you reach the pedals?" She asked suddenly.

"Eh- it takes some getting used to," she said quickly glancing at the little girl. "...Like how you probably sit down with those tails of yours?" Jon offered with a little smile.

Lilly made a little face and glanced behind at her appendages pressed against the seat. "I... ain't used to it." she admitted blushing. "It- hurts." It was always a little annoying at times like this. They were just... so big, relative to her body. A constant reminder of what she was... twice over.

Jon bit her lip as she turned another corner. "Oh- well it wont be long until we get to your house... you okay?"

"... I didn't see my friends today. I'm kinda worried" she said a little tensely. The blue stick lead her to Jon, but... what about Jenny and Artemis? Could they fight the beast without using her magic stick as bait? It was not as easy to force the stronger ones away.

"I don't know a lot about what's going on," admitted Jon. Seriously, she created this entire situation, but there was no way to know what was happening on the other side of the world, let alone her own backyard. She just lived her life as normal as she could, like anyone else... dealing with new situations as they came. Now she was seeing the consequences of one of those lives. She had no idea what to make of... this little girl. Somehow that was different from Biff, whom she at least knew of...

... but Lilly was a complete unknown to her. In the slug-girl's mind, Lilly was just a little girl, and could only have ever been a little girl based on how she spoke, acted... even in her strangely curious questions.

"Jon? um... Why did the sun change?" She asked. "D-Do you know?"

Jon felt herself tense a little at that question. Why did children always ask the awkward questions! Of course she knew why it happened! It was her wish... but how would she react to it? "It's a bit complicated," she said evading the question for now. "Are you unhappy with what you turned into?" She asked. Was she going to be like Haru? Happy? Or like Becca? Or Mikey even? If she were to guess, she seemed a lot like Mikey...

Lilly stared out the windscreen at those words, and down at her fur and school uniform. "I'm this now... I dunno... it's... okay... bein' a girl is weird though cause you don't have um.. you know." she said shifting her legs a bit shyly.

Jon gave a slightly nervous laugh at that. "But if you could... would you turn back?"

"I want'd to... ages ago... now though..." she sighed trailing as she tried to think about it. "I'm so little... an' it makes me feel sad cause I used to be bigger an'... smarter. But I met many friends an' I think I can help better like this."

"I think you've been really smart Lilly," said Jon meaning it. "You've been using whatever came your way to learn magic... without starting with anything at all." Jon had the most powerful object in all of creation... it never occurred to her that the object could actually leech out magic in its wishes.

"I was jus' lucky," she replied. "Cause I found your tree."

"Would anyone else have tried to use it as you have?" Jon asked encouragingly.

Lilly blushed even more. She didn't feel like she wanted to take any credit. She didn't have any of her own power... she just... found things, and used it as best she could. Being a squirrel probably had something to do with the whole 'hoarding' instinct. An instinct she was quite embarrassed by. "Um.. Jon? Who is Venus?" she asked quietly.

"Venus? Eh... the planet?" asked Jon.

"No.. she... um... she says I'm her daughter," said Lilly even more embarrassed. "But I can't be cause... I look nothin' like her. An.. actually... why do the gods all look... human? An' why are the magic girls all human? An'... why is Artemis so human like too?"

Jon scratched her head briefly as she changed gear. "Whoa- er- slow down!" she said turning another corner into a smaller road. "I don't know. I never met any 'god'... I don't know why animal transformations are more common then human-like ones either." Though maybe it had something to do with the way gods are depicted? Or is it that humans were 'made' in the gods image? Is 'that' accurate now? Jon had no idea!

Lilly sighed a little disappointed at the lack of an answer.

"Do you think being an animal is worse then being a girl?" asked Jon concerned.

"N-No.. I mean... I dunno..." replied the squirrel girl. It was more 'difficult' to be sure. But there was something intrinsically 'powerful' at human transformations. For some reason, 'humans' were very special, be they depicted as angels like Lucas, or the magic girls.. or even Artemis. Jon herself, had a human half to her... indicating there might be 'something' about it... While Lilly was 'just' an animal... the difference between them, was palpable.

"Ah, here's your house!"
