Jon, feeling a little restless, turned on the light. She glanced down at some of the 'implements' Karyn and she had experimented on, in order to try and 'communicate' with these magical spirits that supposedly existed. While she has a suspicion such an audacious task would never yield a result, there was no denying she was a little disappointed. Sure, Karyn laughed it off, but still... they were different, to anyone else. They had experienced the most powerful force in the universe first hand, shouldn't they know something about it?

There were various pentagrams in the floor, poetry written in Latin and other languages, even various magical words from a number of different stories. (Though karyn flatly refused Harry Potter spells. Jon never found out why.) Privately Jon had tried them all, but nothing worked. Nothing they did would summon a spirit, nor even create one single basic spell.

Karyn was in another bed, sleeping. The slug girl was low enough to see under Karyn's bed and saw, to her utter astonishment, a large lock of blond hair, next to a pair of scissors. The slug girl had a suspicion she knew what had happened. Karyn wished for long hair on the stone, and now she was stuck with it. Her hair was always going to be considered 'long'. She must have tried to give herself an easier sleep while she was still getting used to having this.

For a while Jon looked at her sleeping figure, holding one of the cut off locks of her hair. There was no disguising the terrible guilt she felt for her friend, who must have gone through so much but never said a word of complaint to her. She had brought the stone into her hand that changed her, twice over. Maybe Jon deserved to be a slug girl- even if it wasn't actually all that bad. She flopped her body onto the ground, and tried drawing another magic circle. The slug girl was feeling a sense of desperation. Just a single magic spell... anything!

Still nothing came... the slug girl sighed, dropping the hair on the ground, as it fell into the circle.

reluctantly, Jon crawled back into her bed and turned off the light. Maybe... one day she will work this out.

She never noticed the small piece of hair glow, ever so slightly. A gentle breeze took a strand of it through the vent, and straight outside.

Artemis had taken Jenny's hand, as the two flew in the curious world of the dream. Occasionally the moon girl had to coax the magic girl with a squeeze of her hand, in order to make her aware of the where they were, otherwise she would flutter into the normal haze that accompanied most unremembered dreams. She hated to interrupt her friend's sleep like this, but... this was certainly curious enough to warrant it and it was a concerning development.

Jenny blinked. "Why are we here?" she asked confused for what was probably the fourth time as she stared blankly at Artemis.

"We're lookin' for Lilly," said the moon girl. She had to try and keep Jenny's mind from drifting here, but it wasn't easy, especially this high up.

"Is she in danger?" That made Jenny focus.

"No- er- probably not, but we aught to know how she's doin' this" replied the moon girl (again for the fourth time) as they seemed to go ever higher into the strange 'sky'. "It's still jus' a dream. you can't get hurt here." At least that was the case 'usually'. It was possible one of the other gods were taking care of their friend, but who?

Jenny found herself transfixed at the colourful strange lights, clouds that were in some way much like the iridescent sun. "How she get here?" She knew she as a number couldn't. Not without Artemis anyway. Unless that was a skill Tetra could teach her someday.

"I dunno. She shouldn't be able to do this. I didn't bring her here, an' she's too high up even for mother to get her. " No normal person can do this... and it was certainly making her more suspicious. What magic had Lilly found? Could she have found... it?

The moon girl asked her mother to help go higher. She sensed some reluctance on Selena's part, but eventually she allowed them to climb ever higher.

Adam wasn't sure quite what to do at the approaching figure. In flight, there were only three options: One could either maintain distance, get closer, or fly away. Either way she had to choose something, she couldn't just do nothing. So she decided to fly towards the strange humanoid figure, noting that it seemed to reduce speed a little as it made it's on choice on if to approach or fly away.

Adam slowed down, trying to show a certain 'casualness' about meeting someone like this. She felt an instinct to tuck her talons closer inside. This streamlined her, and the closed nature of her talons would seem to be a more 'friendly' act. She hoped it would work. It seemed to work as the figure slowly approached.

The harpy gasped at the other harpy. It was no wonder she was reluctant to be seen. It was just a little girl! Someone much younger then her, wearing what appeared to be a modified school uniform.

Adam was feeling suddenly quite shocked and no less even a little protective of seeing a young chickling in the sky. she was very self conscious at her own clothing and nakedness, but being up in the sky like this it certainly didn't feel like any offence had been committed. This was... normal. A normal thing for 'harpy people.'

She flew along side the little girl, keeping her talons tucked in and her tail feathers spread outward. All this served to slow her down even more, demonstrating a peaceful intent she hoped. The little harpy appeared to be a 'crow' type. Her dark feathers were a curious contrast to her own white and blue, and despite this shade they had one of the most beautiful shines Adam had ever seen. "H-Hello," said Adam quickly once she was in range.

"U-um- 'm'not 'sposed to talk to strangers'." said the Harpy reluctantly. Though she was kind of happy to see someone else up here.

"Oh- yes I know um-" Adam wasn't quite sure what to say. That was certainly a very sound piece of advise for a child. "I'm sorry. I- I just learned how to fly and then I saw you-" She coughed as a bug suddenly ended up in her mouth.

The other harpy giggled at that.

Adam cleared her throat coughing feeling all the more mortified. "I'm um-" Oh what should she say as her name? What's the feminine of Adam? "Eve-" She said- then cringed. Crud! That's not a good name! Still it did the job. It will do for now.

"I'm Hannah," said the girl reluctantly. "I- I guess i's okay t'talk. We both can't hurt neither up here."

That seemed soundly logical to Adam. She sighed, feeling a little sad that there was so little trust in people these days. Still the child was quite right. She was clearly quite a bright one, but then crows were always considered one of the smarter birds- (or was that even the right stereotype to apply?) "Um- how did you learn to fly?" she asked curious.

"Lilly helped me!"

"Oh- a friend of yours? Another Harpy?" Adam was curious now. How many Harpies were there?

"Er- no. She's a squirrel with two tails. An' she can climb trees really well. She got me up a tree, an' then I started flyin'. She's the best friend anyone can have!" smiled the girl happily. "She's gonna learn magic some day."

Adam had to smile a little at the thought of two transformed children learning how to fly, or climb, or whatever else they did. It was certainly more interesting then anything that ever happened in her own childhood. Though the idea of 'magic'... well, Adam certainly knew magic was real, but she was not going to reveal that.

"How'd you learn?" Asked Hannah snapping the elder girl out of her revere.

"I- I just do," she said in the end. "I try not to think how."

The crow gave a brief nod. "Uh huh, same as me." she said flying in another arc. "It's so nice up here. I wish I can bring my parents an' my friends. I was really upset though cause I lost my hands. But this is kinda nice too."

Adam followed her flight, keeping to the 'inner ring' of the flight she was doing. "I- I know what you mean. Not to mention the whole-" She stopped. She couldn't mention eggs to a child!

"Huh? What?"

"Uh- nothing. Just... there's a lot to deal with," sighed the older harpy. Maybe this whole thing will be fixed before the child grows up. She certainly hoped so.

"Maybe- I can escort you home?" Asked Adam. She felt it would be best to offer accompanying the child, to make sure she would be fine. Even if the younger one was clearly the superior flyer at the moment.

"Um- well- okay." Said Hannah.

The two continued to fly.
