Neurite/Selene, goddess of the moon, was very disturbed as she attempted to locate her daughter. While she tried to project an aura of confidence for the Angel Lucas, she was actually quite worried. There were very few places she could not see, and those should couldn't see... well, she hoped the girls had not ended up there. Still there was reason to be hopeful.
Artemis was not in any of the dream dimensions exactly, yet wherever it was must touch upon it as she could still sense a connection to her. It was a bond they shared that could never be broken. The moon goddess was poised over a small crystal ball, that was shaped as her moon. In some ways it was not unlike a magic mirror. This was herself, looking at herself, looking for Artemis within all that she saw.
At that point The Feminine Force, Venus, came into her domain- looking a little... weary? Strange for a goddess renowned for her beauty. It was enough to make Neurite stand up and take pause. "What... happened to you?" She tilted her head surprised.
Venus looked quite embarrassed. "A mortal, decided to throw rocks at me," she said a little rubbing one metaphorically bruised eye. Part of her robes also looked to be stained in dust and debris.
Selena looked over her Sister's form with silent concern. "Take some of this ointment," She offered gently producing a vial of glowing energy. Now of course, the obvious question: "How in the world did a mortal get close enough to... throw rocks at you, my sister?" It was certainly quite preposterous. Why didn't Venus defend herself? Unless- a mortal was that wilful. It wouldn't be the first time. Mortals were certainly not to be underestimated when it came to their will. If they were truly angry at the very concept of the feminine... it could translate into actual harm to venus.
"She visited me from the Earth. She's still within my celestial world," She sighed. "She Wais for you to snatch her back, I would guess" This really was quite an awkward situation to Venus.
In an instant, Selena saw through the eyes of her sister, and understood. Venus had a visitor from the stars, and she was... quite a fiery one indeed. The Moon goddess had been vaguely aware of this traveller as she departed Earth. Selena half wondered if she should block the space girl, or impede her movement- but they were confined by certain physical laws- in that they as planets existed, and it was by their existence she could travel. It was not possible to impede her unless they removed their worlds from the solar system... Not to mention, that they would not deny such a being the right of travel between worlds. It was her heritage after all.
Selena sighed. "A mortal attacking a god... that hasn't happened since..."
"Since the awakening. Have they really changed?" Sighed Venus as she rubbed some of the ointment. She was already feeling better.
"To have struck you so, she must have had a powerful will or incredible anger... any idea why she lashed out at you?"
Venus inclined her head a little. "I'm afraid she is one of my new daughters, and... has just had her first experience of true womanhood," she said shaking her head. "I do hope I not have the same trouble with Lilly. She has a more difficult journey after all."
Selena arched an eyebrow. "Are not all journeys of mortals difficult?"
Venus nodded, as she smoothed back her red hair. Her radiant beauty untarnished by the attack. "I can not give this visitor what she wishes. She is a woman, this is going to be part of her nature. She feels I have brought her pain, and... I do not know what to do."
Selena nodded. There wasn't much they could do. "I have been thinking Venus... Lucas is getting a little... how to the mortals put it? Stir crazy?"
Venus nodded. "I have sensed it. Perhaps it is time we showed her the truth about the sword?"
"Is she ready for such a revelation?" Selena knew how head strong the angel could be. The one that can alter the very tapestry of life... to be the one who may decide, who lived and who died... it was not a burden she wished on anyone. Yet the sun chose her, and perhaps it was fate that she now resided as a proxy to mortal affairs. She was a very helpful ally, she just needed to be tempered with wisdom.
"I don't think anyone would be ready to understand this... but I will show her."
Haru was spending the time doing her home work. She glanced at her... very stuffed wardrobe. Her mother went absolutely overboard in outfits. She had new tights, jeans, dresses, even a hat- did girls even wear hats? She didn't even want to know how much her mother had spent... still... she had to admit, she liked some of the new clothes. She never spent that much time on fashion yet now she was taking at least a little interest in her appearance. Her mother had even bought her a vanity mirror with makeup- not that she actually knew how to use it or even if she should.
It wasn't as if she was trying to attract anyone...
yet... being a girl... even a freaky three eyed girl... she did kind of attract attention? And wouldn't it be nice if... she attracted 'nice' attention? Sice well- she actually liked this?
That sounded a little weird to her. She shrugged and turned a page on her book- oh that's strange, "I must have picked up the wrong book." She was looking at a strange fairy tale. A princess in a cursed kingdom, a strange monster lurking around... page four? She flipped a few more pages- but they were all page four. Every time she turned the page she was seeing the same page- she was hallucinating again.
Was it happening to her again? Was she seeing things? This- this just made her feel sick to her stomach, the way unreality just crept into her vision. What if she was always going to see things that were not really there? Was she going to one day go into the nut house, sectioned off for her own protection? Still, the councillor said to just treat these weird 'episodes' as one would a news report. Just- calm down, and let it just be seen. Besides, it may even help Jon.
She turned the page calmly, reading out the story.
"The little girls knew they were in a strange place, where some people could read what would happen to them. But they knew that if someone read the ending, they would be trapped here forever." The three eyed girl didn't know what to make of it. Was this 'real'? How real was it? Was it just a metaphor for something else?
"Little did they know, that the monster they were trying to fight existed in between every sentence, and at the end of every paragraph. It was searching for it's goal within the story and It would attempt to make them sucumb to their roles, and make them part of itself."
Lucas was annoyed, there was no doubt about it. Being in this world of the gods, yet it seemed like her hands were tied the more she delved into the world of the divine. "If you are gods then be gods!" she half muttered. All these rules and regulations... who made them? It seemed like everyone was willing to quote laws that nobody owned up to writing.
Yet she held the sword that broke all rules, 'apparently'. Did that not place her above the gods then, that made the rules? Lucas wasn't sure even she dared think that far ahead. She wanted to help Artemis, and of course Lilly, and Jenny...
A little angrily she did a few practice swings with her sword, when she was approached by Venus herself. As always the mortal could feel the feint tinges of a blush as the love radiated by the goddess touched her soul. A mortal didn't just perceive a goddess visually, it was like they tugged onto the very soul that made a person. Venus always felt soft and gentle. It was like she was being kissed all over with her words.
"It is time you knew a few more things Lucas," said the goddess with the faint twinges of a smile.
"More revelations eh? You do like to keep things suspenseful don't you." It almost sounded sarcastic, but Lucas was stating a simple fact. She took it in stride though. Considering everything that has happened, what was one more secret?
"You break all the rules my child," Smiled the goddess. "Tell me something... have you ever wondered why you changed into what you are?"
Lucas thought about it. "Well- no." She didn't need to have an explanation on that- and that was actually, pretty much it. She was, she is, an angel of Vengeance.
"Yet everyone else questions their form... You out of every being in existence on the Earth, you are the only one that became... exactly what she wanted to be," She said wistfully. "It is one of those unsaid rules. People in this new age, do not change into what they always want- and when they do, they tend to find it is not quite what they really wanted. With one exception... you."
Lucas shrugged. "Well, maybe I just knew I what I would become."
"You are not far from the truth dear. That is part of the reason you are given the sword that can destroy all fates- including your own. That sword was once Excalibur you know." She gave a very subtle wink, as she placed her hand onto the pommel of the weapon.
"Excalibur? You mean like- King Arthur's sword?"
The goddess nodded. "Yes... and in that day, I was known as the Lady of the Lake."Oh they were good memories, she thought as she briefly reminisced.
"Oh..." Lucas glanced down at the sword.
"You seem disappointed?" Asked Venus curiously.
"Well- I thought it might have meant something a little more then that..."
Venus just smiled again. "Come with me, Lucas..."
The two vanished into a shroud of light.
It stretched beyond all horizons, this ocean. It was a planet of water, of mist and vapour. All was pure and pristine blue. Two figures hovered into existence, on what was essentially a barren aquatic place.
"Welcome to my Lake, Lucas." Said Venus.
Lucas stood at the center of a small island, the only dry land on a hazy lake. The water was eerily calm, like a mirror. She felt her sword vibrate in her hand, as it created ripples in the ocean. Venus stood on the water, her bare feet not sinking nor needing ground. She didn't seem to get wet at all from the mist, though Lucas's hair was getting damp already.
"Where are we?" Asked Lucas.
"The remnants of one of the four Elements... but if you want to know the truth about the Element of water, we must go back in time... back, all the way..."
In an instant, Lucas saw the world move backwards, as the lake receded, becoming smaller and smaller. It wasn't just that though, she saw animals and creatures move from land into the ocean... until she was all the way back in time to the first life that existed. Of course, if this was Venus's lake... which would mean she would bring life, right?
Venus stopped at this point, and Lucas could see a burning yellow sun above them, on a dry barren world. Gone was the lake, and now was just harsh desert and rock. She glanced down at herself, and saw they were as ghosts. Simple visitors, watching a time that transpired long ago.
"I believe the scientists of your day would call this the 'primordial soup'... now... watch.
Lucas didn't know where she heard it. She didn't know who, she didn't even know how. The words were unmistakable... a wish. Someone was making a wish, on the element of water. Whatever it was, it sounded like it was the universe itself? Could- could a universe make a wish?
I wish something interesting would happen
The water glowed, and then.... Lucas saw life. All life.... humans....
"... it can't be..." Lucas's jaw dropped.
Venus nodded. "Yes Lucas... Humans, are the Water element."
