I was also pleased on the progress of the research after the week. The Energy lab was nice. We made the field generator and then the melee weapon from the given blueprints. We all let have Simon have it because he was the first to join in. The field generator could recharge the energy fields of the team. The Chem lab finished the incendiary device and the rifle with tracer rounds. The Bio lab finished the mutagens and then a grenade launcher was made. The question was what to work on for the second week. In the Chem lab, I saw a flamethrower. I chose that. There were personal cylinders for the charging of the energy or shield. Instead of standing around and cranking the lever to generate the charge you could simply plug it in. That was for the Energy lab. We could also get a pistol that dealt radiation damage. I leaned towards the gun. The others were split down the middle. I was able to choose the gun during the confusion. "Oops." I said as I pressed the button. The ones that did not want the gun were miffed. I had good relationships with them. I knew they would forgive me.
Perusing the Bio lab options, I chose the dual blades. Looking at them, they were just cool looking. There was a 3 day wait for each thing I that wanted to do next. The general blueprints and the chassis for the 1st clan X-frames were done in the PEP lab. I went for the systems next and would finish it up with the neurooptics. Once that was done, I would fabricate it so all of the guys would be able to get their X-frames. I was then called over to the lounge by Cole, Erica, Cody, Maria and Wendy. I looked at them as I was thinking about having a good break outside. They wanted me for an assassination mission. There was a detective at the police station that was sniffing around the library. He was getting closer and closer to a breakthrough. We were going to find and kill him. Well, we had a new gun that was up to the job. Cole assured me that he was a great shot. I let him take the gun and we all made our way to the town center. We got to the roof after a bit of finding and navigating the stairwell. Cole took the gun and looked through the scope. The rest of us looked over at the police station.
Quickly, things went wrong. First, it took Cole a while to find the detective in the station. When he did, he missed the damn target. That alerted the whole police station. I could not believe how that went so bad. Cody snatched the gun with a scoff and leaned over the edge as he trained the gun side to side as he located the detective. He then took a single shot and shoved it back into Cole's hands. "Target down." he said with a smug look on his face for all to see. That was good. I could not help myself. I said "It's a good thing Cole was here. Cody would have had a really easy shot if the station was not alerted first." Maria just shrugged. Wendy looked at Cole and just said "I do not want to see how your bad shots were." He just said "I'll have to adjust my aiming systems. I must have a small glitch or something." That could be the case actually. They were all homeless units anyway. Who knew if the systems they had could be eroded with bad self-care? It was not like I would have an opportunity to find out. I wanted all of my clanmates to be at the top of their game. We went our separate ways.
Running down the stairs was impossible. I had them all go ahead so they could get ahead of me. I took off my mask as soon as I got half way down. When I got onto the street level, they were all gone. I started walking back to the studio. On the way there, I ran into Liam. He was with another PEP unit. Liam looked at me and said "Hello again. Long time no see." I greeted them. "This is Brianne. I was telling you about her earlier." Liam said to the other one. Neither of them were wearing the uniform that I saw Liam in before. If they were hanging out off duty, they were certainly allowed to do it. I was going to pass by when Liam stood in front of me. He said "Have you thought more about going out with me?" I crossed my arms and looked around. There was an alley. I smirked and said "If you think you can get me pregnant this time." It was impossible for him to do it. I knew it and I knew that he knew it. Liam looked at me and the other cyborg looked nervous. "Looks like you're out of luck, Liam." he said. "Hush Percy." Liam said. Percy had a sandy complexion and red hair with gray eyes.
