We watched as they stormed the room. Several gunshots rang out before the came back from the doorway. Chester was walking next to a naked male PEP unit. He was covered by a bedsheet. I asked his name. He flinched at me and demanded who I was. "I am Brianne and this is Brett. We are here to help you guys. Let's get out of here." I said. He said "My name is Simon. PEP-09685." We got down the stairs and moved through the alleys. Once they got to an alley with a car and a couple of well armed cyborgs, they turned to us. "Listen. You helped us and we're grateful, but you have to go. We can't get to the extraction point if you're here with us. They will gun all of us down. We all need to get patched up and our rewards." Kim said. "Makes sense. Where can we meet you?" Brett asked. Mack lifted his gun. "Shut up! We're not going to team up with you again. If we see you again, we are not going to be gentle with you." he threatened. We just walked down the block until they walked down the alley. The coast was still clear. That was just what we needed to go straight back. They got in a car.
As the 4 we helped began to drive off, the 2 well armed ones called out to us. "You should have left when you had the chance!" one said before they both opened fire on us. A very bad choice for them. Brett got on my back and took out a bow and some arrows from his inventory. He shot them and it killed them instantly. I then began to gallop after the car. It was a black sedan. Once we got on the road, I slowed down to keep them from panicking. The car did not seem to notice us. We followed them to a community recreation center. They parked in the parking lot and we waited across the street. We watched as they went into the building. "Looks like we're doing a long term stakeout. I bet they are going to be in there for a while." he said to me. I nodded. Brett was correct. When they came out, they were still wearing the same clothes they went it with- holes included. It was cleaner though. They must have washed it in there. Simon was also given gray sweatpants and a white t shirt. All of them were wearing the same. I guessed that was the usual outfit the community center provided to them.
Now it was time to approach them. When we crossed the street, they were able to see us. Mack and Kim got in front and looked like they were about to turn hostile. Their distrust was clear on their face. "How did you even find us here!?" Mack demanded. "We were not finished talking. Let's talk about how we can help you guys. We can protect you and give you all supplies and money." Brett said. Mack and Kim were furious. Surprisingly, Simon was all for it. He was of average height and thin with pretty, light gray eyes and platinum blond. He walked up to Brett and cuddled up to him. "I'm fine with that. You better be able to pay up though." he said. "Where is your pride? I will never sell myself to get ahead." Mack spat. Kim just shook his head. Chester reluctantly said "We could hear them out. They did do all of us a favor." Kim said "How did you even know!? That is what has me confused." "Our eyes can tell the difference. That's all it is." I said. Brett just looked at me in a panic and said "Maybe don't say that part out loud, Terri!" It was true that it might be a problem going forward. I just shrugged.
