"Lilly, wait." - Hawkins had had the presence of mind to hold her back - "Lilly. Did your magical pet ever talk to you? Like Tetra?"
"Yeah! I heard'm talking t'me all the time!" - Said Lilly - "Let me go!"
"And did it move its mouth like Tetra?" - Said Hawkins, cooly - "Do you picture Tetra nibbling on people's legs? And what is the number your... guides... gave you?"
Lilly paused. The agent had managed to get her to ask herself at least some questions.
Good. - Thought Hawkins - Now to explain to her what actually happened...
Lucas went after the critter. She could feel it had a lot of power, and, besides, she figured out that any being able to attack time itself like this would HAVE to be powerful.
"Way over my head here..." - She muttered, in Portuguese, as she flew. But she wasn't gonna let that beast attack the Origin. She dove, stopping in front of the creature. "Daqui, você não passa nem a pau..." (1)
The 'pink cat' had no reason to disguise itself anymore. And that was why Lucas had to keep herself from throwing up at the sight of the... thing the cat, in the blink of an eye, became.
It was amorphous, yes. And big. And a sickly translucent blue. Its only sign of a 'head' was a pair of glowing orbs where the eyes were, and the 'mouth', if it could be called so.
The being of potential, while unthinking, clearly knew that the being in front of it was a threat.
Hurling a pseudopod at Lucas, it made its first strike. The pseudopod was now covered with a thick, chitinous claw.
"ACK!" - Lucas dodged, not without difficulty.
A being of potential could reform into anything.
I wonder if I can just juggle some snowballs in a supernova mext time I wanna save the Universe. Dammit, I'm not Superman... - Thought Lucas, bitterly, aware of her own fear - I'm not even Jack Sparrow.
Absent those characters, scared out of her mind of what the being could do to her and to the Universe, Lucas charged at the being, sword in hand.
(1) - "No way you're passing through here..."
