Anezza kind of liked flying, high up as she was. Those with wings couldn't really go as high as she could. But then, how many transformations were as bizarre as hers? Still it wasn't exactly a good idea to fly too high. There were still so many unknowns. Granted, the depths of space didn't hurt her. But what if, say, a plane hit her? She doubted she was invulnerable.
She allowed her legs to cruise her body gently. She wasn't really sure how she knew her general direction. She kind of always knew where 'home' was though, and she knew if she travelled a certain direction she would eventually see some familiar sights.
The space girl gracefully set herself towards ground level. How strange to be here.. after so many years. The sun was setting so there was a mix of normal humans, and the changed people. Quite a few stopped and stared at her.Anneza was trying to get her bearings. It had been... so long. Nothing was familiar here. A road she used to walk as a child from school was still there, the park she would cross- and curiously enough, a boulder of stone was still there too. Time had worn it away over the past thirty five years or so.
She heard a wolf whistle as she passed by some men. She did her best angry look at them, but continued to float on. Once they realised she was floating, some of them had their curiosity peaked and attempted to follow her. Anneza glanced behind with a sigh, and gracefully increased her distance from them. They soon went back to their own business- thankfully. They were just interested in the 'spectacle' that she was.
She was almost to her parent's place as she passed by various terraced houses. This was actually quite a nice neighbourhood. But it was humble... The roads were very quiet, though there were a few more cars parked then she could remember. Anneza left because she wanted more...
The space girl passed by a boy no more then seven years old, and an elderly man. She did her best to float nonchalantly. Though that was impossible as her locomotion always drew attention.
"Daddy look at the weird thingie!" cried the child as she passed by. "What are those things on her head? Is that what the sun does? She's funny!" The child stared gaping wide, making strange gestures to her head.
The elder man looked a bit shocked at the child calling attention to the changed. Of course he also found Anneza to be a very odd sight too. "Yes son, so keep away from the sunlight."
The two walked away, the elder man doing it at a slightly faster pace. He gave a slightly apologetic look to Anneza- was that pity? Or fear? Either way, he didn't want to stay any longer.
The spacegirl looked blankly, not really understanding what was said. Although she could tell the child was amused by the antenna she had now. Anneza hated this body... hated it with every fibre of her being.
Finally, Anneza was at the old house of her parents. Now that she was here though, what could she do? Just ring the door bell? She idly wondered if her parents were now changed too. Would they have turned into something similar to her? Maybe... she could then have someone to really talk to? It was an idle, fanciful thought... but she wouldn't wish this change onto anyone, least of all her own parents.
She just wanted to have a look through the window... so she gracefully again, floated to the upper window to have a very quick look. The space girl was rewarded by the sight of her elderly mother. She was busy cooking. Anneza could smell it... and once again, it evoked a memory, of spices and herbs being used that she would never have considered. Since becoming this alien creature, she had gained an appreciation for those arts. She didn't want to scare her mother, so backed away from the window, feeling for a moment lost again. She took refuge on the roof of the house, while she decided to think on her next course of action.
If her mother was there, then where was her father? As if to answer her question she found her father suddenly come out the door, dressed for work? That was strange, she thought he had retired? Why in the world was he doing working at night? She had heard though that with the worker shortages going on, some people had come out of retirement. Her father would be one of those people...
Intrigued by this, the space girl decided to follow her father to work. She floated above, cautious as to not be seen.
Vertex gestured for Morgan to follow her into a discreet area, in a small park. Morgan glanced around, it didn't look like anyone would be here for a while. It should be a good place to learn what she needed to know... magic... But Vertex has started her by doing some really odd things. It wasn't any spell encantation or anything. She just sat down, with her eyes closed. "Why am I doing this?"
The fairy sighed. "First of all, there are some things you got to know about the nature of your number. It isn't like the others- in some ways."
"Oh" Morgan looked intrigued. "Then there are other numbers?"
Vertex paused. This girl was sharp... she had to be careful. "Yes. But for now lets focus on you. The number two... it takes a certain... personality, to be able to have that kind of number... What do you hear?"
"My heart," she said shrugging.
The fairy nodded. "All life is connected to that sound... Two is the sound of life. But it's more. To you there's sometimes only two ways of doing things. You struggle to find a third way...the balanced way. You have to remember this. Decisions are not always based on what's right and what's wrong... there is grey..."
Morgan paused a bit as she looked at the fairy. "Grey is just a mix of black and white."
Vertex sighed. Why was Two always like this?
