Sarah wasn't sure how long she sat at the bench, on the mall. Long after that other Harpy had decided to 'check' on her. Time passed away, as she tried to assess her feelings on her boyfriend, Biff. There wasn't really much to actually think about it.. he was gone.

Just gone.

They had often come here, to this mall. Oh he'd be a typical jock and she the typical cheerleader. They would buy their supplies out here because it was often the cheapest place despite the longer the drive. What was nice about Biff though, was that she always felt she could be herself with him. Biff had a sensitive side that she was also able to see- that he would actually show to her sometimes. She in turn did the same. The whole 'jock' and 'cheerleader' thing didn't really make them any less human.

Still Sarah had to wonder. Their relationship was certainly not perfect. They always got mad at each other. Both of them had very strong personalities and, of course, high goals. Biff would often argue that at least he gained a scholarship while Sarah was 'just' cheering them... (Didn't she hit him for that one? she couldn't remember.)

You only thought of him as something to own

"No- That's not true." It was more then that, wasn't it? Sarah wasn't that screwed up back then.

Why are you mad?

He turned into a little girl! What am I supposed to think! The harpy's tail feathers bristled angrily.

Somone took your 'possession' away. You just want it back

N-No... Sarah gritted her teeth. This was just guilt talking. Some excuse to just pretend that what they had never existed. She couldn't even begin to talk about it to anyone... and the revulsion that would boil over, when she pictured what had become of Biff. It wasn't his fault though. None of this was. They now just had... different paths in life. Since that last encounter, she didn't even want to see her again. It was just for the best. Besides... what would have happened, if Biff had not changed, and she had become a harpy?

He would have laughed at you.

No- Biff wasn't always like that. He was nice to me.

He just liked your fun-bags.

Sarah groaned. Her inner voice was being really trying today. They found each other attractive sure. The harpy smiled a little when she pictured those pecks he had, or watched him train. Sure he wasn't book-smart, but he was attractive. And it wasn't as if he was dumb either. School just didn't recognise the talents he did have. Sarah will never forget how Biff was able to win money at a card game. He always had a knack for it, even if he didn't quite know how he did it. But Sarah could tell he was probably counting the cards and using instinct to guide his hand.

That he was betting a gift she once gave him, she was not too thrilled about. He claimed he needed the money for something. Whatever it was, he was too ashamed to tell her. At least he got the money he needed...

Still all those moments of their life were gone.

The harpy glanced around the mall. It looked like it would be closing soon. She guessed if she wanted a boyfriend now, she would have to go hunting aga- she would have to go dating again.

"Sorry Biff..." She said with a sigh. Of course she still loved him. But, that was simply not enough any more.
