Morning, 7:30 AM
School Hallway
It was raining outside with a strong cold chill in the wind, which seemed to be slowly getting worse, as Tiffany was heading toward her first class. Her day has been rather better since yesterday. She had to admit, as much as it hurts her pride in doing so, talking to the counselor about her problems actually did felt like a lot of loads being lifted off her shoulders. And she beginning to understand why her father did what he did, and felt ashamed for being so mean to him.
Even so, however, she still felt angry toward Ms. Summers when she was around her. Okay, Tiffany thought, she knew that she was being a 'monster', but it wasn't like she was actually going to hurt anyone. It is true that she might have taken it a little too far with scaring everyone like that, but still, she knew that killing anyone would bring her more troubles than she really needed. And, she didn't mean to actually tear a hole in space like that... actually, she wasn't even sure how in the heck she even done something like that in the first place... but, she didn't mean to. Nevertheless, she could never forget the pain and near-death state she had experience in that woman's hands.
'Well, at least I only have to deal with her in my History class.' Tiffany stopped pondering as she finally was able to enter into her Literature class. However, she didn't get the chance to head toward her assigned desk as the male Literature teacher stopped her. The teacher's changed wasn't really that noticeable, compared to most: he is just a plain tanned human figure, with long pointed ear that ended with a tuff of dark red fur, two big fangs on top among with normal human teeth, a furless tail that ended with another tuff of dark red fur, and nail-less claws. The oddest thing about him is that he seems to improve other people's creative process, which would make him a type of muse, though what kind is a bit of a mystery.
"Excuse me, Tiffany, but I was informed that your presence is require in the counselor office. Come anytime on break or afterschool to get your assignment...though, honestly it isn't really that much."
"O-oh, sure," Tiffany noted, curious to why she was needed at the counselor office. Maybe the Counselor wanted to talk some more with her, but then again, it was odd that she didn't come to her directly if that was the case. It must be very important, which really got her curious now, along with being a little worried as well. She waved the teacher goodbye and left toward the front office. The curiosity of the situation was really getting to her and she hated it.
Tiffany finally got to the front office and saw the secretary working on the computer. She has to admit that it was amazing that Ms. Freelance can actually type that skillful and that fast with those stubby fingers. She walked passed her, only waving hello to the Shisa Dog before going into the counselor office. She paused in confusion to find a living shadow woman beside the counselor. It took her a little time before she realized that it was the Vice Principal, Mrs. Crawford.
"Hello." - Said Mrs. Crawford, politely - "You're not in trouble, before you ask. I wanted to know your account of something that was brought to my attention..."
Cass was distracted in the classroom. The whole moon business, the notion of omnipotence, however limited, in a place, felt so surprising for her.
"Hey. Teacher. Your eyes are getting glazy again..." - Giggled Rachel - "What exactly happened?"
Cass blushed. "Oh. You know, this and that... Anyways, where were we?"
Huh. - Thought Rachel - Interesting... So gonna ask her in private later...
The Thompsons' House, after the kids had gone to school
Andy woke up feeling reinvigorated. She smiled and went down to begin breakfast, and looked around the house. She felt she'd be more confident with practice, and the house could also use a few repairs... She sighed at the state of disrepair "he" had left the house slide into while drinking "himself" into a stupor, but decided to make up for it, and looked at some home improvement projects she could take up...
The hotel where Hawkins and Cecilia were
Hawkins and Cecilia left the hotel, ready to go check on Toby Cooper. The whole talk about "unusual" events had gotten Cecilia thinking, and she was unusually silent as she dedicated some processes to look at her database for events outside this city with as big of a degree of strangeness...
Hawkins looked at Cecilia.
"Penny for your thoughts."
"Oh. I'm just researching on, well... How strange is the stuff the other agents deal with... I'm sorta curious..." - Said Cecilia.
Hawkins nodded. "Wondering about the nexus theory?"
"Well... Yeah. One could say that. But isn't 'nexus theory' a bit of a silly name?" - She giggled.
Hawkins smirked. "If it turns out to ne true, I'll come up with a better name. Promise."
Morning, so to speak, 8:00 AM, US time (so about 10:00, Brazilian time).
Lunar surface, dark side of the moon, near Mare Ingenii. No, closer. Yeah, that's it, right there.
"Holy crap, it wasn't a dream..." - Lucas smiled as she awoke. She willed herself clean and dressed. It worked. She smirked. "Practical, really... Guess I could play around with this place some..."
"Having fun?" - Said a pleasant voice. - "I just passed by to thank you for tucking me in and for the tuna sandwiches. They were delicious, and it was very sweet of you."
Lucas turned and blushed.
"Oh. Hey, Neruite... Yeah, about to... I mean, the possibilities are endless... I have you to thank. I was thinking of doing some rather nice things here." - Lucas blushed.
"Not so endless, you know. It still takes energy and fine-tuning to do the most complex stuff... At least repeatedly."
"Oh? How so?" - Lucas asked.
"Well, basically, it takes some will and energy to do anything, and that will 'cost' increases with the complexity of a task, as well as with the area or size. Air and gravity are easy, of course, and so is creating that house of yours. You can fix or create even complex systems like a computer, but manipulating life, for instance, gets riskier the more tired you are... You'll learn quite a bit about this whole deal. Even Celine-me doesn't get it fully yet..."
Lucas nodded - "I see. Well, restrictions or not, this is the best gift ever..." - She blushed - "Say. I'm well-rested, and you said I could... fix stuff... Does that work with living beings?"
"You want to heal people." - Said Neruite/Selene. - "There are... rules. Rules that prevent gods from doing certain things. However, you're a mortal. So you can do it. But you still have limits, even here. The safe amount should be, like, two per day, tops. More than that and your "healing" could do a lot of harm..."
Lucas blushed.
"Can I... try?"
Tokyo University, 9:00 PM-ish, Thursday
Nanami Konjo sighed, as well as she could, at least, on her wheelchair. As a student in the Tokyo Daigaku with ALS, she kept wondering if she should take the easy way out. Other students had even openly mentioned it to her, going into the Sun to heal herself. The thing was most of her family seemed unlucky enough to become mostly trees when hit. They didn't seem to mind it, but if the Sun had a pattern with siblings and such... She had made her peace with it. She would love to be able to move around, but, if the choice was between a short life with very little mobility and a long one with no mobility...
Then it happened. She felt her chair go out on her, as if it were falling. The other students looked on, stunned.
She - and the chair - fell through what looked like a glass tube. An angel woman with the upper side of her face covered by a mask and smiling like a lunatic held a sign written in English, reading "I LOVE MAKING AN IMPRESSION, LIKELY BECAUSE I HAVE DEEP-SEATED SELF-ESTEEM PROBLEMS. GOOD LUCK, I'M KEEPING THE WHEELCHAIR!". She somehow had the time to read it through. The chair had somehow vanished, and her body felt... odd. She fell through yet another hole, landing back in the classroom...
"What the..." - She looked around at the other stunned students as she got up.
Got up.
She was standing. Her breathing felt... normal... Like it had been at a younger age, before she developed this...
She was healed.
The class was looking at it in utter disbelief.
"What happened?" - Said Tsukiko, one of her colleagues.
"I... have no idea..." - Said Nanami, smiling. The shock was wearing off, and the utter joy was coming in...
Lunar surface, 8 AM, that same place from before.
Lucas smiled.
"Okay. Not gonna lie to ya. That felt VERY good..."
Neruite smirked. "Yet you keep claiming you're not a nice person. You did make sure to take away the root cause?"
Lucas nodded. "Yeah, covered that too. After I'm done eating, I'll do the same for a certain kid in Brazil..." - As she opened a portal and pushed the chair through, into the deposit of a random, needy hospital. She then concentrated and the table now had copious amounts of several kinds of sushi.
"Oh, right. That mother that thought you were a real angel, right?" - Said Neruite.
"Yeah..." - Sighed Lucas - "I'll heal her, but I will make sure to set the record straight."
Neruite nodded - "She'll be all right, yes."
"So, on a different subject. It's odd, really." - Lucas smiled - "I have to plan how to run my life from now on. It's like winning the Lottery..."
"I know what you mean. My co-workers kept asking me if I'd quit now that I was a goddess..."
"Did you?" - Said Lucas - "Oh, also, want some?"
"Nah, I kept doing it. Took a month off, but I'm actually returning today." - Said Neruite, smiling - "And I'd love to, but I've got to go to work, actually. I shall see you later."
"See ya." - Lucas smiled and kept working on her small banquet.
The church
Robert woke up and stretched. She decided she should call Mr. Pitchford in a few hours to get his help moving the bell, wondering to herself how to explain to him that Lucas had somehow gotten a plot of land on the Moon where she would fix it. She checked the newspaper. No mention of it. Maybe Lucas had had a change of mind. There was one person she'd have to talk about this to, however.
Robert finished her breakfast, got dressed and walked towards Father Maxwell...
