The trio teleported past the dreadnought and Neruite proceeded to explain to Lucas exactly what had happened.
"Damn. Ah well. I guess it's better to secure it without getting to that plan of mine than to not secure it at all." - Said Lucas - "Besides, we can discuss another reward later. As long as said reward doesn't inconvenience you." - Lucas smiled.
Neruite shook her head. "Even if it does inconvenience me, you will get it. You're a professional and you helped me solve an issue. And if you go 'oh, but you saved my life' one more time, I'm sending you back to the Moon asleep." - She smiled.
Lucas smirked. "Okay, okay. Let's move on..."
"How much longer?" - Said Cass.
"Oh, it's a quick walk from here. See that... thing?" - Selene/Neruite pointed something at a distance.
"Yeah..." - Said Cass - "Looks like a river, but... odd..."
"There's an island in the middle of it. It has the cave where the Water of Permanence, the item I told you about, is... Ah! I got it!"
"What?" - Said Lucas.
"Well" - Said Neruite, smiling - "The Moon has quite a bit of unused space, and I'm omnipotent in the entirety of it. So, I know. I'm giving you some decent-sized plots of land on it. You'll be omnipotent in two areas each."
"Wow..." - Said Lucas - "Listen, you don't have to..."
"I want to. I feel like it." - Said Neruite smiling - "Plus... I think it might help your plans too. Sure, the Outer Space Treaty means every nation can explore the Moon. But no nation has the ease of access and survivability you will be able to create there... I'll create four areas. One on each side for each of you. You'll be able to create portals to and from it, as well. The only thing you can't do is bring back from the Moon stuff or knowledge you create there with your powers. It bothers the gods, see..."
"I will see to it that you get something for this, Neruite." - Lucas smiled.
"Me too." - Said Cass, smiling - "You're too kind..."
"You say it like it's a big deal to me." - Said Selene, smirking - "Anyways. Each area will be one square mile. Should be enough for anything you guys would want to put there. Let's get moving."
Lucas smiled widely as Neruite walked a bit in front of them.
"I think I found what I came here looking for, Cass... I have to thank you."
Cass smiled.
"You just brought me on the best and weirdest date ever. I heard of flowers and candy as date gifts, but inhabitable plots of land on the Moon as gifts are new to me. Let's go."
