Minus four Watched the squirrel-girl run back to the living room.
That was fear, wasn't it? She was afraid of her... fear was a very strange emotion. The small fury one was instilled with so many emotions it would almost be considered a savoury snack in her previous existence.
She tried to go towards the living room, but the larger one held her tightly.
"I- want- to see her," Minus Four said. Why was she holding her?
Muriel looked a bit concerned. She wasn't sure she wanted the child to interact without her supervision. Still she was aware that Stacy was also in the room. The large dinosaur boy could 'probably' handle things if they got out of hand...' "Just for a little while then, okay?"
Lilly was feeling happier now. She got the sense though that her father was in trouble with Jenny's mother... she really hoped it wasn't anything really bad. She was more concerned over seeing that other person that looked a lot like her friend- but clearly wasn't. She had looked at Lilly a few times before she was asked to let the grown ups talk. (Honestly didn't they know she was older?)
Then Minus four came into the living room. Lilly felt her fur bristle. Her brother, Stacy also sized up the child.
Minus four stared at the giant. She sensed power in that one. Raw physical strength. This one was indeed built for combat though his demeanour did not imply it. She no longer had access to her power. Indeed she wasn't really 'minus four' any more. She was as she appeared.
The dinosaur boy sniffed the air around her. "Hello," he said.
"C-Careful brother. She can make you sleep," she said worried.
Minus four tilted her head to the fearful one. So many interesting emotions...
"What do you want?" Asked Stacy being polite. She was feeling quite defensive towards her little sister. Still if Muriel brought her, she must be confident that no harm would come of it.
Minus four glanced between them. "To know," She said in the end.
"What do you want to know?" Asked Stacy.
The ex-number looked very confused at that statement. "To know," she repeated.
Creepy, thought Lilly. "You made me go to sleep," She said.
"Yes."
Lilly was getting now very angry at the girls statements that said absolutely nothing. Was she being this obtuse on purpose? Nobody could be this annoying!
"What's your name?" asked Stacy.
Name. Oh. Name... a thing to call her. There was no disguising the insult that she had in her eyes, to be called 'something'. Yet in this existence, she had to have a name apparently. She was already named by their thoughts, and actions on this world... "Names... I have Muriel-Jenny," she said.
"We meant your name," said Stacy also now getting a little annoyed. Who would call themselves after other people?
"Muriel-Jenny," she repeated.
Lilly wasn't sure. "Um... how does Melanie sound to you?"
Melanie blinked. Named. It was that simple to them? She felt, reduced in some way. "Melanie" She said with a sigh. It somehow suit her... even if... she didn't really understand how anything worked here.
"Where did you come from?" Asked Lilly. Maybe she could find out more about the bad people that wanted to hurt her friend.
"Nowhere." It wasn't said as if she was 'hiding' anything... she said it as a fact.
Lilly however seemed to take it the wrong way. Still she was concerned that her brother was here, and she didn't want to ask anything that might spill her friends secret. Even to him. "You promise not to hurt anyone any more?" She asked.
Melanie looked blankly then nodded.
Robert was back at home. It was good to be back... today was interesting. She wasn't sure of what transpired with that strange girl, or what happened in the park, but maybe- just maybe, she had done some small atonement for her past actions.
The devil woman took off her clothes, bare skin visible across her entire body. she glanced down at it... she was getting used to it now, wasn't she? She managed to run- and actually this body seemed to be more healthy then her previous body. Her old for, had been putting on a little weight- though that seemed light compared to all these breasts on her front.
She went into the bathroom, and washed her face a little, running her hand across her dark red hair. She then towelled her hands dry, and went into the living room. It was... strange that everything here was still the same, even though the occupant had physically changed. Maybe she could do a little light reading. She found a puzzle book and did a few of the crosswords on it. It was nice to just... relax.
She was in control again... as long as, she didn't think about it all.
The door bell rang. It must be the post, she realised. Hopefully with today's newspaper. She got up and opened the door. "Hello?"
The changed mail-man, herself half cow stared in surprise.
Robert wondered what she was staring at.. then glanced down at herself. Naked. "Hells!" She swore and closed the door.
"Um- do you still want your paper?" Asked the voice behind.
Robert quickly put on some clothes and went back to the door. "S-Sorry. I just-" forgot? She forgot to put on her clothes?! How the hell does someone just forget to put on clothes! Especially given what she looked like!
"No need to apologise miss... I've seen some really strange things," she said with a blush. "Here's your paper...""
Robert closed the door very shaken.
Adami looked at the young girl as she coughed. It was certainly very concerning. perhaps she ate something bad... or contaminated water. The girl that was now Kimi, that started her life as a bandit, was not well.
Kimi coughed, gasping a bit for air. She was starting to miss being the fairy. She recalled that body never became sick. Even if- even if it was also pregnant. Sleep did not return her to that life- which was a mixed blessing. Though that she still missed it...
Adami placed a cup of- 'something' next to her.
She leaned up and sipped it expecting it to be water, but winced. "Urgh- what is this!"
"Medicine. I am medicine man," the native explained.
Kimi groaned. Poison then. These people didn't have any understanding of medicine, in her view. "I'm fine," She said. "I-" she coughed. "I need to go back to the forest. I need to find a cure," She explained desperately.
"Hm..." Adami thought carefully. "If you strong enough, We go to forest to get better herbs for your illness. Perhaps we encounter spirit, but perhaps not."
Kimi looked hopefully at that. She had to find that skunk creature... she just had to! She had to get back to normal...
Lomasi brought her new sister some clothes for her. She found the strange girl struggling to get up. Her eyes still shone with that curious green light. She wondered if they would glow at night like that as well... "You should not be up," she said.
Kimi shook her head. "I'll be fine. Just- need to walk around a bit," She accepted the clothes from Lomasi, finding it was one of those native clothes. She groaned a bit... still, her old clothes were still slick with sweat from her illness.
"Sister- must be cautious," she explained.
"Why what's wrong?"
"Adami is protecting you from the others," Lomasi said glancing outside the tent. "Adami believe you are spirit walker... one who talks to spirits. It make you special. But others see you sickness- might think you cursed."
Kimi groaned. "I'm neither of those things. I'm just- a man-" she paused biting her lip. Obviously that was now not quite the right thing to say.
"You is also sick... it make others worried. They not want to get sick too."
"Well- I'd be all to happy to be out of their hair, if I had anywhere to go," she said.
"That why Adami will take you to forest to collect herbs. Be wary when you leave," Lomasi explained. "Not want anything happen to new sister."
Kimi rolled her eyes. "Yeah. Thanks."
Adam continued to work, finding all the different nuances to her body. It was the lack of manipulative digits that was the tricky part. talons were useful, if you had something to shred into pieces... but to dial a phone? Not quite so easy. The number of times she just pushed a button with her nose out of desperation was quite unsettling.
Her boss, was very understanding. She was glad for that. The alligator-man, helped her now and then but gave her enough distance to work things out herself. She found it a little odd though, that some people seemed to actually be afraid of her. Not so many, but a few. Which was odd, given they were changed just as she was.
"Excuse me miss?" asked a customer.
Adam broke out of her thoughts as she looked to the curious customer. he seemed quite handsome for an android (wait- what?) "Yes?" she asked a bit startled by that thought.
"This might seem a strange request.. but my two children want to have their picture with you. Do you think you could... well... pose with them?" he asked embarrassed
Adam blinked- and her mind again went with 'what' in her mind. She glanced down and saw two young children. The boy seemed to be a Koala bear, although the eyes were certainly very human. The other, was a girl, who seemed to be a little older. She was quite different. She appeared to be a sea- creature, but still retained her legs. Curious fin-like structures were around her arms and legs, on blue skin. She looked like a young water nymph.
"Can we please have a photo with you?" asked the boy hopefully. "Please?"
"Well- um- I don't see why not," said Adam, still finding the experience quite surreal.
She sat on the floor at the same level as the two children and spread her wings around in a pose, while their father took the photo.
Adam gave her best smile, as they all cheerfully looked at the resulting picture.
"Thank you," smiled their father. "I know it's silly. They think you look like someone in a video game, or something. Personally I do not see any resemblance. But it certainly made their day." he grinned to her.
Adam shook her head. "No- I don't think I do. None that I know anyway," she smiled. Her aesthetics were quite.. average. But in this new world, what exactly was beautiful? The slimmest, largest, the fastest, the strangest, or the most human? Adam didn't know... though she didn't really want to think herself in that way. "Well, I best get back to work."
"Of course. Thank you again. I'll send a copy to you if you like next time I see you. I'm sure the kids will want to buy something from your shop."
Adam couldn't help but smile.
