Minus Four had started to 'walk'.
How strange it was to have a physical form. One foot moved forward, then it had to move another foot... they did not seem very adept to this cold concrete. The hair sent strange sensations on its back too. So much sensation... feeling... it gave her goosebumps- forcing yet another coo on its lips.
It had a vague idea of where its counter part was. This was often considered a plan of last resort. It worked in the past... but... physically becoming like this had inherent risks. Despite this, it was also one of the few certain ways, to utterly annihilate a number. Given the sheer speed at which this world was progressing... and that number four actually made them 'feel' pain... the threat she had to them was clear. If number four continued, finality may never conclude.
Yet this species was one they had never taken a form in before... having no proxy this time it was forced to feel everything and process the understanding as best it could. This species seemed to excel at sensation. Sight.. sound... taste... smell... and especially touch... Balance, movement, sounds, the wind... to actually be in this world...
It had to hasten the plan. These foreign feelings were overwhelming!
It saw some of the sentient that existed here. Its form should blend in well... yet some stared at her. Was it a threatening look? Why did they look at it like that? Had it been detected? Impossible! It searched it's mind for an explanation to those facial features, expressing emotion- though it lacked the understanding of what the emotion was.
One of them made sound come out of it's mouth. they were large... a lot larger then she was. Why was its form so much smaller then them? Ah... some of understanding fluttered through. This was the manner they spoke. Communication.
It had no use for speech so it continued to walk on. Yet now the vocalisations were higher pitched. It turned bracing itself for the attack...
when instead it felt something draped over the body. More sensations greeted it- what manner of attack was this?
Robert sighed as she placed her robe over the child... she still had normal clothes underneath, and the poor thing was just walking around naked. She had taken note that she seemed to have four inverted nipples on her. An unusual change, but not any less then anyone else.
The devil woman tried again to talk to the girl. She hoped such an innocent looking person wouldn't be intimidated by her appearance... she had got more then enough looks just walking around the place. Given what nearly happened at the church, she had decided to live a quiet life from now on. "Are you okay little one? Where are your parents?" She spoke carefully.
The child didn't seem injured, nor did she seem frightened or... actually anything. Robert for all her faults, was usually good at picking out what a person was feeling. Children in particular could rarely hide their true emotions from her... so it was quite worrying, that this child was completely 'blank'.
The child stared... and seemed to look at the priestly robe draped over her, and it's coarse though not unwelcoming fabric.
Robert gave a hopeful smile. "Do you live nearby maybe?" She wondered what was going on behind those eyes. Why did something here feel... so wrong? Robert wasn't sure why she felt it... but the child appeared to be alone and she felt obliged to help.
"... eight?" The child said in the end. She said it strangely, as if experimentally. Almost like she had never said the word before.
Robert blinked. Eight? What did she mean by... Oh... was it really that noticeable? She guessed so given the child was looking up at her. "Um- Yes... I have eight," she said a little shyly about it. At least the child was talking. "Do you need anything dear? I can call your parents if you want..."
The strange girl stared at her more. "No."
Robert wondered if she should call the police anyway... even if the girl 'seemed' to be okay, despite the lack of clothes. Nakedness didn't really bother her that much any more... It was mostly thanks to habit that she still wore clothes herself, but the sight of another being naked didn't really faze her. Especially given Hell's kitchen being quite free on those kind of requirements... not that she would do that herself.
Her internal thoughts brought her attention back to the child...
Tetra waited patiently, sitting at the wall of the school. She had to get Jenny... this was... this was bad. She could sense a monster- a big one. Much bigger then that shadow-dog in the mall. If they didn't stop it now, who knows what could happen!
The school bell rang, and students started to pour out, in various shapes and sizes, yet curiously enough all with some kind of symbol or uniform. It was a very surreal scene, almost as if the school was stating that despite the differences traditions would endure.
Finally she saw her partner with two other girls- a squirrel girl, and another with strange markings on her skin. She had heard from Muriel about Artemis. Tetra wasn't sure what to make of the story of a girl from the moon...
It didn't look like it would be possible to get Jenny away from these two, much as she would prefer.. so she casually jumped onto Jenny's shoulder with a soft purr. "Hello Jenny... Sorry to drop in on you like this."
Lilly stared wide eyed, while Artemis giggled.
"Aww that's so cute!" Giggled the moon girl.
Lilly just stared mouth open. "Uh- who are you?"
Jenny giggled. "This is Tetra. She's my friend. An' Tetra, please meet Artemis an' Lilly."
