Lilly concentrated on her handwriting assignment... trying to keep everything aligned and joined up. It was really hard. She was glad her padded hands at least were human enough to hold a pencil, but everything still seemed big to her. She tried joining her letters as the teacher showed her... It was slow progress.
"I-Is this better miss?" Asked Lilly.
The spider teacher nodded. "Yes, very good. Keep practising... apply these techniques in every lesson. Not just English, but in maths too. A neat book will improve your mark."
Lilly looked at the scrawlings.. was her handwriting always this bad? Or was just getting used to a new hand, and having to hold a pen with small fingers... she didn't know. She wondered if she was doing this wrong. She remembered vaguely in her first childhood that she was unsatisfied by the final result. Maybe she could take advantage of this second chance? She started acting a bit more loose intentionally, trying to work out the best way. An excitement grew in the squirrel girl as she sought to improve something...
... and then she wondered, would it really be that bad? A second chance at everything... not that she was unhappy with how things were before, but... it might work out better this time? Her thoughts were interrupted as she felt something hit her. Not hard, it just tapped her on her head as the tiny object fell onto her desk.
She glanced as something rolled off the floor.
... A nut? Someone threw... a nut at her?!
The gym teacher quickly made everyone do warm ups while he searched for Tiffany. He hoped she was okay... he was only a temporary teacher in this school. Physical fitness was going to be an... interesting subject, given how different everyone was with their needs. Cycling with different teachers was going to be the way forward in this new world.
"She's... with the councillor," A voice said.
The Gym teacher turned to see the rather enigmatic Ms Summers. He didn't know how she always sneaked up on people... it freaked him out some. "Is she okay?" he asked hiding his discomfort. His sensors didn't really make much sense when they presented her with the teacher's seemingly human form.
The teacher paused very slightly before responding. "Eventually," She said simply before walking off.
The gym teacher sighed. Poor kid... but there was nothing to do now. He quickly returned back outside.
Somehow... the students found out. It was hard to keep a secret in a school, and someone may have seen Tiffany go inside the councillors office... however it happened, the news spread like wild fire.
The girls that used to follow Tiffany in line were in hysterical laughter. Tiffany's gone nuts? Needing a 'councillor?' What could have Sarah have said to do that! The harpy was suddenly gaining status as the girl who 'beat' Tiffany. There was even a joke going that Sarah was not so 'armless'.
"Way to go Harpy," Said one 'friend' of Tiffany's giggling.
Sarah was at first bemused by the whole thing... then slowly started getting angry. Who were these jerks Tiffany hanged around with? She didn't regret telling Tiffany any of those things, clearly her troubles went a lot deeper then she thought... but that fact seemed lost on the majority of people.
"You okay?" Asked Jon as she trailed her foot to the jogging harpy.
"Yeah... how are you able to move that fast?" Sarah asked. Jon was somehow keeping up with her brisk run. Sarah's talons were quite good at running, a jog was like walking to her. Still Jon was keeping up with just one foot. She noticed it had the advantage that Jon's breasts were quite stationary, while her's were jumping at each step. It didn't hurt as much as it might have when she was human, but it was still annoying.
"I'm not really sure," Jon admitted. "My mucus seems to be very slippery when it needs to be" she said biting her lip. She glanced back at the track, hoping nobody slipped on it... but this was the only way she could move.
"They think I did something to Tiffany ..." Sarah said annoyed.
"It's not your fault," Jon said.
"I know that! I don't feel any guilt over it. Sarah had to be told."
Jon gave a slight nod in between a gasp for breath. She was starting to get very thirsty. "We- don't really know what happened to her," she said. Was her transformation really, the result of her wish? It wasn't what she would consider 'interesting'... not exactly.
"She was a freak before... something just.. horrible," Said the harpy angrily. The only image that came to her mind was of a caricature of beauty... something that might appear a sight to look at, but when you put it all together, it wasn't. It was disturbing that... when she thought about it, she was looking at what Tiffany thought others wanted to see in her. What made her happy to see in herself...
... and that was just sad. She could only hope the councillor would help her.
Jon glanced seeing Max on the sidelines. She wasn't dressed in any gym clothes. She slid to the cat girl and got a drink at the fountain next to her.
"I managed to get out of PE," Max admitted. The white furred cat girl glanced to the others running on the track, a little sadly.
"Oh... why?" Asked the slug girl.
"Um- I don't actually have a- er- enough sport bras," She said blushing very heavily. "Besides... I know what will happen when I start jogging. Everyone's going to stare."
