Muriel wasn't sure quite what to think when she got that phone call. Somehow, Jenny had found Harriet? There was a massive police search the day she disappeared and the trail was completely cold. She was one of several people still unaccounted for...
She wasn't sure quite how Jenny found her.
The police officer sped down the road in her car. She knew where that family lived, though had not had previous contact with them. Children were always considered a priority in a missing persons case. She took a turn to see the cottage, and a woman waving to her down. Muriel got out of her car. "I'm Jenny's mother, Muriel." She said quickly.
The woman arched an eyebrow at the uniformed officer. She wasn't expecting a policewoman. "I'm her Unc- aunt," said the elven woman delicately. "My sister is inside. I came as soon as I heard too."
"Miss Violet? What's your first name?" Asked Muriel as the other girl took out a key from a side pocket. She appeared to be wearing jeans that seemed... a little too big for her.
Miss Violet sighed. Did she have to pick out her new name now of all times? "Um-" She had a moment panic but then shrugged. "Sabrina," She said in the end. Not too convinced of her choice, but she had to pick 'something'. It's not as if she wanted her old name around. "My sister, Harriet's mother, is inside. Please come in."
Muriel quickly followed.
The room inside was warm, as Muriel glanced around. She saw Jenny and quickly hugged her.
"H-Hi Mommy," the white haired girl said hugging back.
"Sweety, I'm very proud of you. How did you find this girl?"
"I-It wasn't me really. I couldn't have done it without Lilly."
Muriel saw the squirrel girl looking 'incredibly' awkward. She was in the corner, just trying to hide away from any attention. Poor Billy... Muriel gestured the furry girl closer, and she shyly complied twirling her twin tails a little with each motion. "Well done," the police officer said simply.
Lilly blushed under her fur. "I- didn't do anythin' really... Jenny did it."
Muriel had to laugh now. Neither of them seemed to want to take any credit. Still she had a job to do. "Where is Harriet?"
"Talking with her mother," Said Miss Violet with a little smile.
"We- We saw your posters," Said Jenny as she saw her teacher. "We wanted to help."
"I'm very proud of both of you too," Miss Violet said. Though she was suddenly a little put off by the fact that the children were still in their school uniform, and they were seeing her in her normal clothing. Normal at the moment being, quite a tom-boyish look for the elven woman. Her ears twitched, as she heard her sister come down the stairs. "Are you okay?" she asked a little faster paced then her usual tone.
The older looking woman seemed unsure as she looked at Miss Violet. "My daughter isn't making any sense... she claims to have been 'on the moon'. Its crazy!"
Muriel bit her lip. She glanced to the two other children. "Jenny? Why don't you go and play with Harriet? If you could make sure she's okay too..."
"Yes mommy!" She ran off- then glanced at Lilly, who still had a dazed look about her. She giggled and pulled the squirrel girl's arm. "Let's go play!"
Lilly was quickly pulled away from the adults. "B-But I dunno how to pla-"
Violet nodded in silent agreement as the children left for Harriet's bedroom. She gently went to her sister and hugged her softly.
Harriet s mother started to wail. "S-She claims she has some 'other' mother now... and that she was on the moon. Is- is she crazy? Do I n-n-need to take her to a hospital? Did s-something bad h-happen to her?" She looked besides herself with worry. Harriet was acting very strange, stranger then she thought any transformed person would. Even her 'sister' took some time to get used to... the way she acted with her change was almost as if she didn't care that Harriet was missing. Always saying she'll turn up... that she had a feeling... but for her, it was torture!
Yet... she was proven right this time. Did she know? How!
Sabrina gave her sister a tissue. "It's okay... she's here now. That's what matters..."
Muriel nodded. "I'm sure if something really bad had happened, she would tell you."
"B-But she has these crator markings on her when- a light shines... I'm so confused. Did someone hurt her?" The mother still looked frantic with worry.
"I don't think she is lying either," Said Violet. "Which means... something impossible happened."
The mother gave her 'sister' a look. "You went all nuts after your change! What if something weird happened to my daughter?"
Sabrina bit her lip a little hurt, her elven ears dropping just a hint. "I- I think I'm fine..."
"you just sit there judging me being afraid of the sunlight!"
"I'm not judging..." The elven girl said as if this is a very old argument. "I do think, practicalities need to be considered... you've been cooped up in here, frantic... unable to do anything but worry for Harriet."
"I searched ever night I could..."
Muriel watched the two sisters argue. "Please... enough. Your daughter is safe... if you expose yourself to the sunlight, that's your own choice."
"Indeed," Said Sabrina. "Sister... it wouldn't be appropriate for you to work nights while trying to take care of her... let me help you until you decide what you want to do. I can easily bring Harriet too and from school, and perhaps learn a bit more on what happened to her. You can then keep to the night work, and sleep as normal... "
Harriet's mother wasn't sure. It was true she could use the extra help. She didn't expose herself because she needed her arms, legs, eyes, and goodness knows what else she might have lost to the sunlight to look for her daughter! But now that she was found... dare she really expose herself now? She couldn't do that. Harriet needed a familiar face... especially if something traumatic had happened. Since when did her sister become so... convincing? "But... would she even recognise you?"
"I can only wait and see," Smiled the elven woman.
Anneza drifted back towards the Earth. This time, her decent was far better under control and direction. She didn't need to see... she just knew where she wanted to be. She recalled pictures of shuttles entering atmosphere, and burning as they landed... yet that didn't happen to the space girl.
It felt more like a curtain she was parting, pushing through, but not actually cutting across. She didn't know how she did this... it simply was. She entered another layer of the atmosphere, as water and cloud vapours hit her. Her breasts bounced a little more, distracting her. she put her hand to steady them... She hated being a girl...
She could hear the song of 'home'. It was nice to know it was still 'home' to her, as she glided down. She sensed the eddy of the path that brought her here had shifted... it seemed that these rapid paths depended on the alignment of Earth to the body she wished to travel to- at least at that speed. Would there exist other paths?
The strongest path would have to be to the sun itself. In a way, knowing she always stopped half way between two destinations was very comforting. It meant it was not possible for her to accidentally fall into a dangerous region of space... as long as she stuck to these small 'stations'. But of course, this only applied to travel within the local system... not that she had such a desire to go anywhere other then Earth.
Even if she couldn't talk to anyone... it was the only planet with life on. She would go mad on other worlds... madder
her decent slowed as she saw her town... her area... her street... her house... her window...
An accuracy unmatched by anything technological... she was effectively, impossible. But there was another impossible thing... the song of the moon, on Earth. It was nonsensical... yet there it was. However her journey had left her tired, and she thought it best to retire for rest.
She shook off some of the debris from the asteroid on her feet, as she went to bed.
Steven practically crashed into her room. "This sucks," She said in the end. Though it was nice talking to another plant changed person today... it really didn't make her feel any better. Not to mention she was feeling... a little strange.
She glanced out the window, her mother was in the garden. It looked like she had fallen asleep as soon as the sun set. Lucky her... it's not as if she changed genders or anything.
The flower girl thought of her 'forbidden' magazines... but no. She still couldn't do it. If she found out she liked guys... she might just curl up and- well- no. Flowers curled up and died, she wasn't a flower! Still... she was a little curious of her own body. She never really inspected it on her own after the additional changes to it...
She glanced outside again, making sure nobody was looking, as she gently pried open her petal skirt. She had a full length mirror in front of her. She slowly relaxed her white blouse top, letting them drop to their natural position. Finally, she moved the white petals all the way to her side, showing her small breasts and flower tipped nipples.
She cringed a bit, but she decided she had to see everything... She pulled down her bottoms and panties, and pulled up her 'natural' skirt... finding the whole thing more then a little awkward. Especially as she actually had to touch her ballerina legs. Glancing down, she could see the toe-nails were still pink... it was like her feet were mocking her in their femininity. But the greatest mockery came from what was between her legs... those strange inner flower petals.
She wasn't sure if she should... but slowly, she parted the inner area, not really sure about all these extra petals. She felt a jolt of.. something and quickly pulled her hand away. This was.. nuts! This was just so nuts!
She looked at the mirror again, at the strange flower at the top of her head. She gave it a little touch with her fingers, feeling everything as part of her own body. She wasn't sure why, but looking at herself she felt.. a strange warmth in her breasts. She wasn't sure what the feeling was,.
she quickly dropped her natural petalled skirt to a natural position, thankfully hiding her legs in some small way... and lay back in her bed. The warmth in her chest continued for a little while.
