Tetra was curled up on the table when Muriel came in.
"Hello Tetra," the police officer said as she secured her gun into the safe.
"Hello dear," She purred. The diminutive cat stretched up and happy to have company.
The police officer started to get dinner ready. It was nice to be preparing food for another, her days were so quiet before Jenny showed up. She always had an interesting story of something that happened. Much of it was just a lot of silly childish things, but she adored it all the same. It was hard to remember, that her daughter was a magic girl...
Tetra smiled a little more as she licked her paws. "I sense... another good deed just happened." She said. "Jenny is shaping up well..."
"She's a lovely girl..." nodded Muriel. Though she couldn't help but worry a little for her. She still wished... she could help her more, in whatever she was tasked to do. It still seemed a little unfair to shoulder such a responsibility on her shoulders... she was just a little girl. Still.. the words of her father rang in her mind. Make her strong... "So.. these good deeds help her?"
"They make a magic girl stronger... as they do for any magic girl. It's a basic law." Tetra purred. "And I think... your daughter has made outstanding progress in the last few days. She has helped so many people... maybe more then you realise."
Muriel had to smile at that. Her daughter was doing small good deeds... that was nice to know. They might not be earth-shattering, but she was a positive force in this world... it made her so proud and happy. She started to set the table, waiting for her daughter's return.
Jenny and Lilly talked a bit more to Harriet. Though it wasn't making much sense. She said her name was Artemis now though?
The moon-girl had an air of innocence about her that was striking, even in front of Jenny. Lilly felt a little self conscious that out of the three of them, she felt... out of place. An animal and former male... talking to girls that were younger then she was- or the same age now? However Jenny still held her hand, and it made the squirrel girl feel too happy to let go.
"Um- when I was Harriet I don't 'member havin' an aunt," Artemis said confused. "Maybe I don't remember right?"
"You do have an aunt!" Said Jenny. "Miss Violet. She teaches at the 'cadamy."
The moon-girl looked even more confused at that but shrugged. "Guess I will see her soon."
The three girls continued to walk, until they finally approached a small cottage house. There was a hedge they had to duck under, as there was a large spider web in the middle. Jenny giggled a bit at that, as some of the web got onto one of Lilly's tails.
"Eek!" the squirrel squeaked getting the web off. "Don't like spiders."
They rang the door bell... and waited.
The car ride was a little quiet between the two cyborg creatures.
Hiro occasionally looked out the window, seeing so many different kinds of people... but as dusk approached, she saw the humans start to come out. Watching them at this hour, side by side as he saw all kinds of reactions. Some humans were fearful, but there were also just as many that were curious of the transformed people.
He wondered how it must be in the larger cities... in a way, out here in small towns and suburbs they were quite lucky. Which was ironic, as Hiro preferred the big city. He wished he could go to Toyko... "Hey Dad?" he asked breaking the silence.
"Yes?" Asked the female cyborg as she glanced across the road to signal a turn. She was amazed by how easy driving had become... it was like the car had was part of her systems in some small way. She knew instinctively how it would handle anything, as well as a perfect understanding of the roads.
"I... wanted to ask about Tokyo. How was it there?"
His father sighed. "Not great... but getting better. You know Toyko. They at first went by the emergency quarantine plans before they understood it wasn't transmissible... then they enacted shelter agreements- but there wasn't enough room for everyone. I don't think they ever planned for anything like this. In the end people were just getting exposed to sunlight anyway..."
Hiro gasped a bit at that. Though he didn't see any other alternative. If there wasn't enough room there wasn't enough room. "W-what about what they turned into there?"
"pretty much the same as here," He said.
"Oh..." Hiro thought.
"You sound disappointed?" she asked glancing over to him.
"Well- I thought maybe... people would take on forms from media... you know..."
His father shook her head. "Some did... much like here. Not many. It seems random. Nobody knows what they will become..."
The young cyborg nodded. He had thought that maybe people were becoming the creatures that were around them in television... but that just wasn't always the case. There was some kind of randomness to it, yet he couldn't help but think there had to be an ordered equation to it. Maybe it was the machine part of him looking for a pattern... but whatever it was, it escaped him.
Finally they arrived home. The car was parked into the driveway, and Hiro got out. It might be a little while before his sister arrived from school...
"Well Son, you've got a few hours now off school."
"Yeah- I know.. I'm sorry for skipping. I just.. couldn't take it any more." He bowed his head ashamed. "I just feel..." What did he feel? He wasn't really sure. He wanted to lash out at times, or just cry... he wanted to 'do' something...
"It's been hard for you. I know that. Just... talk to me, or your teachers first before you do anything, okay?"
"Yeah.. okay..." Hiro promised. He had a new task anyway. To see if he could fix this digital fairy. A task that seemed insurmountable. Yet it was his task... and he would do his best.
Anneza wasn't sure why... but she felt like a song in the sky had changed. She floated to a window, struggling a bit to muster enough force to open it up. Fortunately, while she was for the most part in no gravity, her feet would almost 'rest' against something- even though there was nothing there.
She glanced up at the new moon trying to listen to it... yes it was different. The sound intrigued her, and she wondered why it sounded like that. Before she knew it, she was already floating higher, past the window, looking always to the moon.
The space girl could feel the strange tug of gravity that Earth's natural satellite had, it was almost like a small road... what if she stepped onto it? She glided herself onto the strange force.... and suddenly, she picked up an incredible amount of speed.
Anneza was so shocked at the pull. This wasn't like before when she left earth's atmosphere on her own power... this was like being caught into a stream. A raging torrent that was pulling her faster and faster. She was going much, much faster then before. She blinked and found herself...
She wanted to scream, but instead held her breath. This was... bad!
The space girl was now standing on a 'very' small rock. It was free floating in space, between the Earth and the moon. Aneeza didn't understand physics all that well, but if she did this would have been called a Lagrangian point. An area of space, where gravity between the Earth and moon were nullified... What Anezza did understand was that there were now two 'rivers'. One that would take her back to Earth, and another that would take her to the moon... the strange antenna's on her head quivered in free space, doing what they did... providing her that strange sensory information she didn't understand.
... she was still holding her breath as she realised the enormity of where she was, and suddenly... how small everything was. How far away her curiosity brought her... but that song on the moon was still there, loud as ever.
She looked down a bit on the small rock she had landed on... it was barely as large as an average boulder. Maybe... she best return home. She felt so afraid of the depths of space... and she might be running out of air.
