Adventurer's guild tiers were: Coal, Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond. The situation was that the native adventuring NPCs were still pretty distrusting of us. The natives don't want to become obsolete. I could definitely understand that. The Adventurer's Guild gets quests that influence the fate of the city or world. It was something that did not want in the hands of invaders. Since there were not any players here in the city, there were only the native NPCs running everything. However, they could not really stop the red eyed demons if they truly wanted to do anything. Any resistance would be met with strict punishment. The only thing they would have me do is make nails and horseshoes. It was not something really surprising. I was able to use the exp. from making and selling the nails to level up. I put my skill points into my magic. I started with buffing the nails and horseshoes. That made them sturdier and more effective. Once the people in the town got a good taste for them, they all began to fly off the shelves of the shop. Eventually, I made enough sales to justify ranking up to Apprentice.

Because of this, I was able to use the smelter to take raw ore and make it into ingots. That was good because I was able to use the iron ores Thalox and Phirlax gave me from adventuring, or Dulgron and Helelin got from other merchants. One new thing that I could make were arrowheads. That was good for any bowyers and fletchers that wanted to make bows and arrows. Not so much for the prospective adventurer asking for a spear, axe or sword. I took it on the chin as a learning experience. My master just shook his head at me when I made my 27th batch of nails for sale. "What a waste of magic talent." he muttered. I just pretended I did not hear him and gave him the nails. My fellow apprentices gave in some steel ingots and looked them over. They were nothing special. He looked at them and said "Dalmar. Azgath. Good job. These ingots are excellent. I have been talking with all the other masters and we've decided to recognize you 2 as Novice Blacksmiths." They looked overjoyed. They ran to the master and hugged him around the waist. They then looked at me. "Congratulations." I said.

Clearly, this was favoritism. However, I did not mind. I understood what was going on. I had helped overthrow the castle town and now they were being overrun by us. It was the least they could do to fast tract those that were good at their positions. That way there would be some pushback if they were ever able to reclaim the town for themselves again. Even if that was not possible, you could not oppress the ones that made everything needed to make the town run too hard. Society would collapse if they all went on strike or, even worse, rebelled against us. That was why the lord was making purchasing homes and joining guilds so easy for demons with red eyes. It was a subtle war of attrition. Whether the demons with orange eyes could take back the town before the red eyed demons overrun them and established dominance over all aspects of society. It was not my town, so I did not really care. If they had a uprising, I would just leave with my party. At the end of the day, I saw went over to the inn to rest for a bit. I saw Dalmar look side to side before going down an alley. I followed him.
