Brittany looked perplexed as she was guided by Jon. The slug girl looked particularly agitated. She glanced at Karyn, who was equally concerned. She didn't know what was going on between the two. What has made them worry so much?

Jon glanced around, anxious to make sure nobody was around as she turned the combination to open the locker. "I.. have something I was told to give to you," She explained.

"For me?" Asked Brittany. That was even more confusing... perhaps someone from the school? The Saxon girl gasped as an old book was held in Jon's hand. She recognised it instantly. By.. the... gods! This was.. impossible! "The book of Merlin..." she didn't mean to say his name aloud.. but to be confronted by it...

"You know what this is?" Asked Karyn curiously. She noted that Jon had not taken out the stone yet.. though by her face, it was obvious she had brought it with her. That might be too dangerous! They should be doing this at their house... moving the most important object in the entire world... she just hoped nothing would happen to it.

Brittany touched the book. It was... just not possible. This book should be dust. Could a wish have brought it here? "We... should talk somewhere quietly," She said to Jon and Karyn.

Jon nodded. She took out a bag as well from her locker, thinking this might needed as well.

Karyn nodded following after them.

Nikki cooked the bird quiet happily. It took a while to get the fire going. She had placed a twig across the meat, having feathered it. The stick allowed the meat to be manipulated easily. It was almost like a barbecue.

Erica was amazed. She thought she would see her rub two sticks together. Instead she scraped a stone, making sparks fly out of it.

The child like skunk looked up to her with a smile. "It's the iron in the rocks," she explained. "They come out really hot.. so you can make a fire if something catches it really easy. That's what the dry wood is for."

"I feel so.. out of..." she didn't have the right word. She was out of her element. A fish out of water... she could never survive here. She hoped that her letter reached the church. If it did, what would happen? Would she just disappear, and all this never happen? Would she suddenly be back home...

What exactly would be the consequence of disturbing her own timeline? It was surly worth the risk though. The alternative would be to be... this.. creature. She didn't believe in paradox's... as she was here, this was the only course of action she could try. She couldn't just not do anything based on what could happen.

She missed her old form. She thought she had it, for but an instant. No more periods... no more... cycles... her life was back. But it was taken away. Twice! She didn't even get a different form back. She got the same one again. Did that mean, transformations were not random? Or is it only the first one that is random... then they were stuck? If she did disrupted time, but accidentally ended up in the sun anyway... would she still become a skunk girl, or would things change again? Would she become something worse? There was no way to know...

"You look sad," said Nikki.

"I... am kiddo," She said just staring at the fire. How could it all come to this...

Nikki looked down not sure what to say. "I... think you're pretty," she said in the end.

"This isn't my body. It's not who I am" She said a little annoyed.

Nikki turned the bird over, as it continued to cook. "It doesn't change.. that you are pretty though," she said hopefully.

"Kiddo, I'm a skunk. I 'stink'..."

"So am I... an'... that's just a normal thing. A defence." she said blushing a bit.

"I just want to get home.. get back to my own body... but I promise, I'm going to get you home too. Okay?"

"You... promise?" She asked hopefully. She seemed really worried about things recently.

"Yeah Kiddo.. I promise. I'm not going to let anything happen to you."

Deputy Samuel walked with his dog Cutler back. The dog still looked quite pitiful, like something was still wrong. "Easy boy, no need to worry any more" the young Deputy said with a smile.

He had entered the town, and went straight to the bank. He was expected, and the people working there opened the vault. He took out the gold bar, anxious to be rid of it finally to its true owners.

"Thank you deputy," said Moris. Me was a moustached man, large, and carried quite a regal air about him. Having stared this bank several years ago, he was certainly wealthy.

"Much obliged," smiled Samuel. It was definitely a good feeling to do this work.

He left the bank, as there was still one more errand... the letter from his new... friend. He smiled a bit. That strange.. magical creature in the forest... if he told anyone about her, they wouldn't believe him anyway.

He entered the church noting someone wearing the robes there. "Howdy," he said to the pastor.

"The Lord Bless you this day Deputy. What can we do f'you?"

"I have... a letter, I've been instructed to give to you." he said fishing it out of his pockets.

The pastor looked at it strangely. "Well now, not to be open until...." He eyed the date. "This a joke?"

"Call it a letter a friend wants to give to her descendants maybe.. I respect her wishes enough not to open it. Perhaps she just wants to talk 'bout our lives to another generation," he grinned.

The pastor took the letter. "An interesting charge, to say the least. I shall keep it among our records."

"It is very important it is read at the right date... believe me." He said. "The source was... somethin' almost angelic," he said.

"Seriously son?"

"Well, she was a lady, and she was strange... that's all I can tell yer," he explained trying to be coy about it. Honestly keeping her secret was harder then it seemed at first. He wanted to tell everyone! But.. he couldn't.

The pastor looked at the letter curiously. "Maybe I'd like to look upon these words myself..."

"Now you ain't gonna do that sir. I need your Word o'God, that you will not open this letter, until the right time."

The pastor rolled his eyes but nodded. "I'm gonna be dead long before then... but I will give you my word upon God, I shall not open it." He said putting it away.

Samuel went back to the sheriffs office. The criminal was in the jail, and it looked like Ironhand was now taking a bit of shut eye. The dog Cutler wondered to his corner, to take a bit of rest. If Samuel didnt' know better, he would swear the dog was shaking it's head at him.

The young deputy would normally hang up his gun here, and start finishing up the paper work, listening to the wire on new wanted men... but he couldn't do it. He felt like he had to see that strange girl again. Even now it felt like it was just a dream...

"You've been seein' a girl, ain't you boy," Ironhand said without moving a muscle from his slumber.

"H-How..."

"I was young once lad," he said leaning his chair. It was clear from his distractions something happened... "Who is she? Lady McGree?"

"No... She's... from out of town," He said blushing.

"Pretty?"

"Y-yes... but.. different," he said unsure to even why he thought this. She was so alien... yet so human? How did it make sense. A unique creature... was it even right to call her pretty?

"Well, if I were you boy, I'd take the shot at it. We lead dangerous lives... not many live to be my age." he reminded.

"Thought you always said to look before shootin'" he said putting away a few more papers.

"Not when it comes to love boy..."

"Hey- I don't know if I love her," he said quickly.

"Only one way to find out... take the rest of the day off."

"Really?" The young deputy looked amazed.

"Aye... we got just the one man in jail... I can handle anything here."
