Nikki worked efficiently in the woods. Eric didn't have any wood survival skills, and the little things that the child did was actually quite amazing.
"Mom said the most important thing is water. We know there's a stream nearby, so we are okay on that" Nikki said with a smile.
Eric gave a little nod. "Uh.. huh..." Still... this felt really strange. Having a child do what should be a mans- er.. an adults job? Yet here she was, letting the child do all the work. She felt a little guilty, and wanted to do something to make herself useful.
Nikki paused in her workings of the den, as she looked back to Eric. "You know... um... can I call you mom anyway? Even if... you arn't?"
Eric looked at her strangely. "Wouldn't that be a bit weird?"
"Not to me," She said casting her eyes downward.
The teenage skunk girl looked back to her, her eyes softening. "Oh.. fine..." She said reluctantly. If it made the kid happy... why not?
"Hungry?" Nikki asked taking out some fruit. "These are safe" she smiled again.
Eric wasn't sure as she looked at the red berries. They were very small... she took a bite of one- and nearly broke her tooth on the seed. "Ow!"
"Careful! They got seeds. You got to eat em slowly," She explained.
"I- knew that," She said feeling quite embarrassed. It was strange eating wild berries. Humans had engineered food to be 'easy'. It was easy to chew, sweeter, bigger, and... well... wild berries had a bitterness to them she had never tasted before. Was she really going to survive on this? Even if only a week?
"It's too late to go hunting for birds right now," Explained Nikki. "We'll get some in the morning. It'll be a nice hunting trip!"
Eric looked at the letter... she might have been a teenager, but she was not stupid. If the box had her own scent, she must have 'arranged' to get this to herself in the future... which meant at some point she will travel through time again.
Right?
Unless she didn't do the thing she was supposed to do... then she wouldn't be here.. then... ugh!
This was real! This wasn't a show... She didn't know what the consequences would be of altering her time line. Clearly though, by the nature of this letter, she was attempting some kind of... alteration? Maybe things went badly the first time and so she sent herself this letter? Is that how it worked?
If that's the case... then maybe this Samuel, is the one who will help her make sure, she doesn't end up as a skunk. That must be the reason she sent herself this note! To set those events in motion... but why wouldn't she give herself more precise instructions? It made no sense...
"What are you thinkin' Mom?" She asked with a little smile saying it.
"Er-" Eric didn't think she'll get used to that. "Well... I'm thinking, since we are in the past... maybe I can warn everyone about what happens in the future. We don't have to end up as skunks... we could be human again."
Nikki looked oddly. "But.. I'm how I always was," she said confused.
"No- No you just think you were. See, that happens sometimes when you're a child. You're a transformed person. Like me," she explained it.
Nikki looked blankly. "I- am?"
"Uh huh. I'm going to help us both. I'll fix things so you and me can both be human."
The little skunk girl looked at Eric with bewilderment and confusion.
"Just.. trust me," She said.
"I- trust you mommy," She said softly.
Eric nodded, as she thought of her plan. She had to get some kind of message to a town that wouldn't be here for a hundred years... she didn't know who her family in this time would be either. Perhaps a delayed letter? But would the post office really delay a letter for a hundred years? Maybe not... which meant she needed to make some kind of time capsule.
They still had the box... and this paper... if she had a bit of ink... "I don't suppose you have a pen?"
"No Mom. But I know there's some charcoal here," She said with a smile. She had walked a few paces down, and picked up a rock from the ground. "I'll sharpen it for you."
The little girl started using her claws to make a rudimentary pen.
"Thanks," smiled Eric. Okay.. she now had pen.. paper... a box... now all she needed was a location. Where could she put this capsule where it would be found in one hundred years? Eventually a sewage system would be built underneath this area... if she just buried it again, would it be found?
But how could she make sure the message got sent to her specifically? The scent trick wouldn't work if she was human... like it did this time.
Nikki looked in concern to Eric. "I finished the den, it's big enough for both of us," she said with a smile again.
Eric sighed. It was basicly just a hole. still, it offered shelter... and actually it looked remarkably warm. "Well done." she said not trying to sound ungrateful.
"Whatcha doin' now?"
"I'm going to try and leave a message on this letter."
Eric carefully wrote it out. She wrote in one very personal secret, something only she would know of herself... it wasn't anything too embarrassing, but her past- er- future self would understand it can only have come from her. Or someone well enough to know her.
She then proceeded to write the events with the sun change, as well as the date. She recalled on that day she was going out to get her haircut... and that under no circumstances, was she to go out.
She scribbled out the word "Erica" From the letter, and wrote down "Eric." Why would she call herself Erica? Weird...
Her labour was complete... this letter might just undo all the damage. That box though, might not survive a hundred years... she needed another plan in case this didn't work.
Her sensitive ears heard something..."What's that?"
"A bell..." said Nikki tilting her head.
Of course! There was one building she knew had survived since this time... the church. It had to be... It was a historical land mark. If she could get this letter to the church... or even a general warning somewhere inside that church...
"We should get some rest now," said Nikki. "I don't think we should light a fire. It might attract humans. Our scent will keep the animals away." she explained,
Eric groaned once more. "yeah.. keeps anything away," She said with a sigh. Even humans knew to stay away from the smell. "Tell me.. do you .. have a father?" She asked curiously.
"Um... I'm not allowed to say..." she said shyly.
Eric sighed. "Fine.. never mind. "Lets just get some sleep."
Max tried to get comfortable as she went to bed.
She wasn't sure if she could ever get used to her new form... she was used to sleeping on her front, but the extra breasts she possessed now made that feel- just a little too weird. It wasn't bad exactly... but having six nipples pressed sent such strange feelings inside her mind that it was enough to just make her sleep on her back.
The slightly cooler air on her torso was... just that little bit less intrusive, although now her tail was caught in a rather bad position. Looking at her cat in her basket, she noticed how she was curled up and wondered if she should try that kind of position?
Strangely, her body complied with ease, as she curled up. She bunched up the covers for more support on her back, as she lay on her side.
Max dreaded school. She didn't really want people knowing about her unusual assets. At least the Bra's helped.
The two dragon girls, and their parents returned home after their outing. They had each spent a very nice day in the park... The children noticed, how their parents were not arguing any more. They actually seemed to like each other...
Alex was so glad and relieved. It was like a dark spell had lifted, yet as she entered the house, there was this... really strange feeling. Like the dark emotions of the past, still lingered in it.
"... I know son," said Andy a little guilty. "We have new lives... but this house... has not changed with it," She said. How is it even the corridors invoked memories... reminding her of times she was drunk, nearly passing out to stumble onto this door...
Susan gave his wife a kiss. "We'll fix it... it'll become better then ever. A complete renovation... to reflect a new start."
Their parents went to the sitting room, while Sally and Alex went into Alex's room.
Sally smiled to Alex. "That was.. fun," She said.
"It was incredible," Alex said still awestruck with how they had spent the day. Flying was just... words couldn't describe it. Having the freedom to move in every dimension, and to do so with such power in her form... power she knew, had yet turned into its prime.
"You seem worried about something Sis," Said Sally
Alex guessed she best explain something. "At school... We're going to have to take a test."
"H-Huh? I didn't know that!" Sarah said in mid panic.
"You don't have anything to worry about Sally. I need to though."
"Huh? Why?" her twin looked at her with concern.
"Because... I grew younger," Alex explained. "I got your age now. Which means I might have forgotten things. I might have to go into special classes... or re-learn things again. if I don't score well in the test."
"You seem okay to me," Sally said after looking at her. "You're still... smarter then me." How strange that she could say that without being jealous? Was saying that to her mirror image really making that much of a difference? But even if what she said was true... wouldn't it be nice to work together now?
"I also need clothes and..."
"You can borrow from me!" Sally said earnestly.
Alex seemed unsure. "Well- okay..." She said in the end. It wasn't as if she had much choice in the matter right now.
Robert has spent hours now in just... ecstasy. her body tingled with delight... even her hooves felt good, despite no reason they should.
She then felt guilty.. and ashamed. It's not who you are in the light, it's who you are in the dark. She had just shown how when the lights were off, and nobody was looking, she was just as impure as everyone else. Even now, she could feel that little buzz inside her head, telling her to continue... one more bout of pleasure, just one more...
She couldn't sleep. Instead she got up, still completely naked. Her hooves clicked on the floor as she went to gaze at the window. She glanced down at herself, suddenly realising she was naked and walking around. This was her own house and nobody was here... still... that she didn't feel a desire for clothes was very unsettling.
For some reason... she wasn't really that sleepy anyway. Did her form need less sleep? She wasn't sure. But if she didn't need to sleep, what else was there to do? (No- she told her body as that thought came in mind. She wasn't going to do that any more...)
Why did that word feel so.. wrong... 'priestess'. She was a woman.. and a priest... it felt wrong. But was it wrong? Maybe some food would help her think.
She wasn't sure what food she was craving really. But a lot of the foods just felt.. bland to her. She knew she was craving some kind of meat, but it was too late in the night to make that. Instead she settled on frying some ham, with eggs. She licked her lips in anticipation... she wasn't sure why something felt strange there, and she extended her tongue.
Oh God.. her tongue was large... at least twice as long as most humans. She cringed a bit at that. It wasn't noticeable unless she extended it anyway.
Sitting down, she ate the food, noticing her red shiny skin... hating it. She wasn't going to give in.. she had to.. fight.
