Clyde said "I wanted to get to know you because it was so cool." He was beaming at me. I really had no idea how to take it. However, gaining some friends and allies was better than not doing so. "Thanks. Someone had to do it and I wasn't going to let others tell me what I can and can't do." He seemed to be blushing as he nodded at me with his light brown eyes sparkling. There was a ping to tell me that my relationship with him had gone up. We had become friends. It was fine with me. We left the school building together. I apparently lived not too far away. I could do my homework, watch television, play video games, or go on the computer. I did my homework. It was all just a set of basic math and word problems that appeared as a minigame. I did well on it. When it was time to go to school I made my way there with a brisk pace on the street. There was nothing to worry about, but I still felt a bit excited. No one would be dumb enough to attack someone in broad daylight. It was almost the moment of truth and I wanted to see results. Class was breezed through as I wanted to get to lunch.

When I did, I was apart of the crowd that ran over to the bulletins. It was impossible to fight so many crowding bodies at once, especially the massive and the aggressive ones. I just had to wait my turn. When I finally got there, I looked at the football one and saw that my name was not on the list. Even Klein was on the roster at number 29. All the memories of the tackles I had suffered had flooded back to me. That really pissed me off. I looked over at the tennis roster. It really was make or break situation for me. I saw the roster was split into alternates, doubles and singles. The "alternates" were probably the coaches way of saying benchwarmers. The menu told me that high school tennis competitions were team sports in every sense of the word. There were three singles matches and two doubles matches. Each contest went for a set. Best out of three matches won the whole match. The list had six names for singles. I was not among them. That was concerning. In the doubles category, I saw my name as part of team 3. That meant that I was going to be a second stringer. It was fine for me.

If there was a reason one of the main two teams could not go on, I would go up with my partner. I was not paying attention to the other students trying out aside from the three jocks, so I had no clue who my partner was. His name was Bryce. I guess I was just going to have to wait until we met at practice. It really did not matter to me at all. All that did matter was that I cleared the quest and won the bet. I looked at the Football roster. I knew that the jocks were excited for this. Brad retained his spot team as a starter. Tyler was the same. Klein only stayed on the team as a second stringer. He did make the cut on the Tennis team as an alternate. That really made me laugh out loud. He was talking such a big game. I was about to leave when I felt someone roughly pin me to the wall from behind. "So pipsqueak, I hope you got the fucking message. I told you this would happen. Didn't I!?" Brad said menacingly. I just chuckled. "I won and you two lost. Look over at the tennis team." I said. They all looked at the roster in horror and Brad let me go in shock. They saw what I did and snapped back to me.

Very slowly the ramifications of this dawned on them. "So, are you two going to keep your words, or are you jocks going to chicken out? You do remember the terms we agreed to, right?" I smirked smugly at them. "No fucking way! There has to be some sort of trick!" Klein said. Brad growled and said "Don't get cocky, asshole! You think you can hang with us, huh!? You mean nothing to us. Hell no we're not keeping the bet!" "You think we care about this shit? We'll get this over with like it never happened." Klein added. They were certainly talking a big game. It was then that Clyde came over. "I think you guys can let go of Sunny now. He won the bet. You guys are on different teams now. Besides, if it were me, I wouldn't try pissing off the one that won the bet. My ass would be the one on the line after all." he said as he shifted his weight from one leg to the other flamboyantly. I just shrugged at him and said "They already chickened out. That is what I was expecting. People keep talking about things they have no way to back up. So... they are going to back out." He just laughed and clapped.
