Jenny had entered the play area a little shakily.
Did she really call Muriel mommy? Would she be mad that she did? It just came out... but... she wished she could be her mommy. She knew somewhere her real parents were somewhere, but.. that feeling deep down somewhere, that she was a bad girl to them lingered.
Tetra poked her slightly. "Hey, you okay?"
"D-Do you think Mur- um..." It just didn't feel right to call her that now. "Would she be mad I called her Mommy?"
"Ah come on, of course not. In fact, I think you may have made her day."
Jenny smiled a little at that. It was good to make people happy.
"Oops people. Time to hide," The cat girl jumped into a top pocket. She curled up herself, and was 'relatively' comfortable. Although her claws were occasionally digging into Jenny's chest again.
The white haired girl looked around at the place. She realised quite quickly, she was the most human looking one here so far. She saw strange animal transformees, as well as a few of creatures she had no idea of. She saw an empty swing, and decided to jump into it. The girl clambered onto it, and lifted herself into a gentle swing, quickly picking up pace with each motion of her legs.
Swinging higher, she could see her mom talking on the phone to someone. She hoped... they could stay with each other forever. Even if...
... but what about her real parents? What if they suddenly turned up? What if... they took her away? She didn't want to go away, she was happy here! With Mom and Tetra, she felt complete and happy. What more could she ask for?
"My turn on that swing!" A squirrel girl said. She appeared to be about Jenny's age.
"I- I only just got on," said Jenny surprised.
"You're new here arn't you. That swing belongs to me!" the squirrel girl pushed Jenny off.
The white haired girl fell onto the wood chippings, designed to soften her fall. She looked surprised and upset at the squirrel girl. What should she do?
Another kid came to her. He appeared to be an elf of some kind, given the very long ears he had. His appearance was very androgynous, and Jenny was having trouble deciding if it was a boy or another girl.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Um.. yeah. But she..."
"Yeah.. she's like that. She has a mean big brother that makes sure she gets what she wants. It's best to just let her have it."
Jenny gasped at that. She hoped she wouldn't run into him. Maybe it was best to let her have the swing for now? The squirrel girl looked very upset at something, and swinging seemed to calm her down a bit. She wondered what it was?
Billy looked angrily at the little girl who took her swing. It.. was so unfair. How come she got to remain human while Billy not only became a girl, but also a kid, and a stupid animal too? And why not a cool animal, why a freaking squirrel! Her bushy tail made normal clothing practically impossible. But to add insult to injury, her little sister got the cool transformation. She became her older brother now. At least he felt obligated to protect her.. but for how long?
She swang higher, scowling slightly at the white haired girl as she looked at her. She seemed to get the message...
Max was given a pair of basic jeans to wear, modified slightly to allow her tail to sneak through it. She had a basic top on. The bra's she had were white to match the fur she had and helped hide... them.
She stepped out with the clothes, to the view of Jon, Tim, and Karyn.
Karyn looked critically at the clothing then nodded. "That really suits you."
Max's tail, free to move now, was even more animated then it had been before. "R-Really?"
Jon agreed. "Absolutely." But then, did she know much about fashion.
Tim wasn't sure if he should say anything. He was quietly realising that the clothes was making those blurry infra-red aspects just slightly more defined as they confined the heat more. "It um... It's good," He said quickly not wanting to embarrass her again.
Max smiled. "Thanks guys... I um... I'm so glad I ran into you all."
"So are we," said Jon. Max seemed like a nice person.
"I... was intending to go home after this... but... could I hang out with you guys more?" Max asked. After the week along, being with people again felt really nice. She didn't want to go back just yet. She also remembered she had a demanding pet who just had to get her tin food.
"Of course!" Said Karyn. "You don't have to ask.."
"I need to just go to the food shop and get something for my cat."
"You have a pet?" asked Tim.
"Um.. yes." Max smiled. She sheepishly took out a camera phone, and showed a picture of it. The little kitten was sitting on the lap of a young boy, biting playfully on his clothing. That cat looked an awful lot like Max...
"Wow..." said Jon. "She looks... just like you..." It was the same face... the same fur... even the same kind of tail. It was as if someone stretched out that cat into human form.
Max's ears dropped slightly. "I know.. weird huh? I wasn't even with her at the time... so I don't know why I changed like that. I'm.. um.. actually the boy holding her."
Jon sighed softly, as she realised another life... she had changed irrevocably. But Max seemed to be coping... despite what looked like a difficult transformation.
"She still sees me as me, for some reason" said Max. "She doesn't mind what I look like.. she knows it's me. Or maybe it's because I'm the only one that can understand her."
"You mean you can understand cat language?" Asked Karyn
"Um- No.. I mean when I was human. I could understand her. I knew what she wanted... it was either food to go outside." she giggled a bit at that.
"Sounds sweet," Said Karyn. "I'd love to go to your house and meet her."
"Sure. I mean.. if you want" the catgirl said shyly.
They continued to walk down the shops, eventually Max found a place that sold cat food. ... she hoped it wouldn't give her too many stares.
Steven sighed. At the insistence of her mother... she was outside, and walking towards the arcades. Her sweatpants were dry now, and she was wearing them. She realised quickly it was impossible to hide her petal skirt now though... so had them running over her pants. The sight was a bit strange... but her choices were either this, or stockings, or nothing. It was the lesser of three worst situations.
Still, she couldn't help but think she was now playing some kind of 'dress up'. People who knew her could tell it was still her, since her face had not changed that drastically. Even her breasts were not that big... even if they were a bother to her. The top she had rubbed her flowery parts quite roughly but it was manageable.
She wasn't really sure what she would find in the arcade. All her friends were going to go there at night... so she wouldn't be running into them unless she stayed past sunset. She still had the top score at the racing game. A title she had always defended... she even had a screen save of it in case the arcades ever lost the memory. She had a circuit completed in only 1 minute and 12 seconds. A full twenty seconds less then most people could manage...
she was in the zone on that day, she realised. Somehow... for some reason, the controls were just that responsive to her. The cheers her friends gave was one of the most thrilling things she had ever felt. There was even talk of getting her into a game tournament starting at some point... but she couldn't go any more.
she sighed as she walked down the road, she could hear the vague whisper of the trees saying what might be 'hello' to her.
"Yeah... hi." She whispered back. There was no doubt about it, she was going mad. She wasn't going to tell anyone she was hearing things...
There was another word the trees said. Calling her by a name? No... some kind of.. title? In her human language, the only word that it seemed to signify was... princess? Urgh!
Now she knew she was going nuts.
