Andy looked at her daughter...

"Son- I... don't... deserve it.." she said falling down on the stairs sitting. She rubbed her eyes, and shook her head.

"I-It's okay.. dad..." Alex said. God.. the dragon girl felt guilty to see her father like this.

"I..." Andy began. What excuse could she give for the way she acted to her son- now daughter? For almost ruining her marriage, for the untold misery and hatred... he was his father! (wait.. that's not right..) She was... her... mother? No that did not sound right either. This was horribly messed up and she really had no clue on what to think. Before Andy became depressed and lost his job, they had a good enough income that they were hoping to have a third child. But after he lost it... it was apparent they could not afford it.

Losing his job... was one of the worst things she had ever felt. Yet still the family was here... still acting as if... they wanted her? After everything... Everything she did?

Part of her wanted them to leave her alone, at least then she could not hurt them. She had said so many horrible things.. thought the worst of their neighbours and her own family...

... what could she possibly say to her daughter? What kind of an example had she set them in life? She was weak willed, and broke easily... despair haunted her. She wanted her children to be strong. But how could she make them strong if she was not? Before she had a weak will and a somewhat strong body... strong enough to be a front. Now... all she had was a weaker will in an even weaker body.

How could she teach strength when... she was like this?

The rabbit girl stared at her dragon-like daughter... she was still responsible for her...

"Alex... I... wish... I could have done things... differently." she said sniffling. How could she possibly tell her child how horrible it feels to lose ones job.. to become 'redundant' to society, as if everything you have given in the past mattered little... but even if she did, was it really any excuse for how she acted?

No... it was not.

"We're still here dad... So is mom and Sally..." the dragon girl explained.

the rabbit girl nodded. "I-I'll... make it work. I can... I..."

"We'll be here to help you... okay?"

"Y-yes..." She spoke softly, wiping her eyes. In the past, she would never have cried. Even now she was still ashamed to show her tears in front of her daughter... she quickly walked to the kitchen, focusing on satisfying her stomach if not her spirit.

Anneza and the doll communicated with each other in sign language. The space girl did not have much of a skill at it, but the doll seemed to. According to one of the staff members, her name was Ellen. It was still hard to get her story, but from what she was able to tell the doll was 'found' by some young children, who...

... played with her as a toy.

Suffice to say, the experience was quite traumatic. Ellen seemed to be far sturdier then actual flesh and bone. It was hard to place what she was actually made of. Like a very hard plastic maybe? She couldn't get much of who she used to be though, or even if she was once male or female. She wasn't sure if it was because she didn't know, the language barrier, or maybe she was simply not desiring to say it. The string was a curious issue of her transformation. She was unable to talk without it, but she was also 'compelled' to say something if she didn't have anything to say- or didn't want to say anything.

Anneza was glad to have 'someone' try to talk to her. She wondered how the doll even learned sign language in the first place and tried to ask.

Studied the Doll explain.

Big... Anneza glanced through some of her cards. time? she signed in the end quickly. Hoping it was at least correct. Fortunately by doing this, she was quickly verifying the notes of her new language written on the card. That they seemed to be communicating the right things.

yes. The doll then made a further sign, but Anneza could not understand it. Perhaps it was her profession? Maybe that sign meant teacher... but she was not sure.

They were interrupter by one of the staff. "You have visitors Anneza."

Anneza looked to where she was pointing... she tensed, seeing what could only be some kind of special agent? What the hell did they want from her! She confessed to everything! They put her in the nut house and now they...what? wanted to torture her?

Not a friend? asked Ellen noticing her defensive look.

No The space girl signed back. Though she then noticed that young wolf girl.. she had to admit she was a rather assuring presence in this unknown place. She signed to Ellen She is a friend

Will smiled friendly to Anneza "Hi there, I hope you're okay..."

Cecilia noticed the cards with the alien language written on them. "This... might be helpful as a starting point. If we could understand the written language as well. Perhaps we should make her say these key words as a starting point?"

Haru listened in amazement to Britany's story. "So... you were a priestess?"

"Yes, I served many of the gods. I knew them as they knew me." The relationship between the two was strange, she remembered. But Merlin did say the gods were once man as well... through magic they became what they were.

"You must have been very important." The three eyed girl thought.

"I... helped our people as best I could, I remember. Guided those in Death, served them in life..."

"So... what do you think of the modern world?" Haru asked very curiously.

Brittany glanced around. "There are similarities and differences. The knowledge of lightning is as great as the discovery of fire." She said with a wistful smile.

"You are taking it rather well. I would have thought someone from two thousand years ago would freak out at all this."

"Perhaps... but I did spend the last month with no true memory of my past. So I suppose I had no expectations. Perhaps such was needed. Indeed, It is surprising I can converse with you at all. I doubt Saxon survived two thousand years... perhaps there is yet more magic at work here then I realised."

"Magic... magic is real?" Haru asked.

"Yes... and no..." She said cryptically. "But more... yes. more so every day, since the change in the sun."

"Have you... ever seen um... beings like me? Or anyone else here?"

Brittany had to think on this question carefully. "I believe... I have. In the minds of many artists, sculptures, or wordsmiths I have heard of such beings. Even in my own time."

"But- I mean in reality-"

"Reality... hm... yes. I have seen beings as these in circles of great magic as well. 'in reality' as you might say. Gates into other worlds... that were closed long ago. You yourself, belong to a species I sensed a familiarity in, with certain abilities" She smiled gently.

"I- I don't know how much you can rely on my power... I mean... I don't even know any of what this power is." The oriental girl sighed. She didn't feel special.. just someone who was teased a lot. As much as if she were a boy or a girl it seemed.

"It would be foolhardy to rely on your gift in such a manner, true... but it is a useful guide. That is part of your abilities... and one I am thankful for."

Haru gave a little smile back. "Thanks... um... what about other species here? Have you seen anything like them?"

"Some of them are known to me... others not so much. I suspect quite a few could be considered alternative humans. Perhaps an answer to a question on what might evolve, had man not saw the stars first."

The two continued to talk, Haru still amazed at all the things Brittany told her.

Steve, the flower girl felt a bit.. odd going back into the house, and into the shade. It was like something was missing. Being in the sun was such a euphoric experience. She knew her body wanted to be back there, even if she wasn't sure. Looking out the window she saw her mother, singing to the plants..

The flower girl shook her head. How could this be considered normal? How did things change so quickly in the last two hours? But at least she wasn't facing this alone. She got out the water can kept in the cupboard, and filled it up at the sink complying with her mother's request.

She looked at the small flower they kept near the sink... Steve wasn't sure how she knew, but it-she? was asking for some water too.

"Look... I don't really think I can hear you. I'm just deluding myself." The flower girl shook her head.

Why did she feel as if she was hearing a big please now from the flower? It wasn't exactly words they spoke in. More a kind of... instinctual sense? She wasn't sure. Flowers must exist in a very strange state of life. Perceiving just a cycle of life and death, and aeons of time. Yet this flower seemed to be asking for some water from her.

"Okay... fine..." She sighed. She gave the flower the water, which seemed to make it happier. At least she thought it might.

She went back to the garden, seeing her mother soaking up more sun. Steve also felt her own body feel... quite nice with the sunlight.
