Haru looked with a gaping wide mouth.
Did she hear the gorgon correctly? Is that why she was feeling- she wasn't sure what to feel about this now! Not at all.
"I- I don't know. I um-" Did it make her feel uncomfortable? She was probably attracted to guys when before she wasn't! Of course it made her uncomfortable. What if she changed back? What if the sunlight changed again and made everyone normal? It could happen... couldn't it? "A- A little uncomfortable," She admitted.
The gorgon nodded. "Why are you worried?"
"Well- I guess... I still want to believe I might change back? Am... am I being silly?" Harry gulped.
"There is nothing wrong with those feelings..."
"B-But doesn't it mean I'm not adapting well?" Harry wasn't sure she could let go of the rest of her life.
"Not at all. Nobody is asking you to forget your past life... it was your life. It meant something to you, it was yours... this life is also yours. What I hope is that you could recognise it... even be happy with it."
Harry did feel happy... but did that happiness mean she had to let go of her old life to truly be happy? What about being attracted to guys? Isn't that... wrong?
"Um- what if... I did let go of that life... and... was happy in this one? but then everything changed back?" She wasn't sure how Ken would react to that. She would feel really bad. It would be like proving once and for all... that his friend was right. She wasn't a real girl... then she realised- did she want to be a real girl to Ken?
This was... getting really strange to think about.
The councillor nodded patiently, as she gave Harry her attention. "You are right... but Ifs are by their nature, uncertainties. What if, you were in this body for the whole future?" She said this very gently, to ease the girl into such an idea. She was glad that Harry didn't seem to react with complete fear... some trepidation perhaps, but not completely against it...
Harry looked down at her body, the strange oriental girl... it was nothing like her old life. Nothing... not even a family resemblance- even if... she was still related. "I... I want to say I'll be okay. But I don't know..."
David enjoyed the eggs and bacon.
The savoury food seemed to agree with most her sisters as well. She could still taste the lipstick on her lips... which one of her sister was doing that? Why! They had a general consensus before to avoid such... things. They wore a bra because they had to, given they had a rather curved form, and the dress was... comfortable (even that still made David shudder) but someone out there, seemed to be going a step further then any of the others were prepared to take.
Rachel twitched her tail, as if caught red handed- so to speak. Her hand was red after all. David now knew her real name... but why didn't she want to tell it?
"You have a nice house," She said softly looking around.
"Thank you," The mother smiled. "Carl is a very good plumber," she said softly.
"P-Plumber?" asked David. He didn't think a plumber would be able to afford the small bits of luxury she saw.
"The man nodded. "Yep. Well not just a plumber. I do a bit of everything. Carpentry, electrics, any odd job really. Though nowadays I am only available at night..." He would still feel rather bad though if someone had a real emergency.
The mother shook her head. "You really shouldn't risk all that by going into the sun you know."
"Oh, as long as I have opposable thumbs, I'll manage" he winked. Though in truth he was actually... quite concerned, given what she had seen David become.
His wife rolled her eyes. Now she feared that the powers that be would probably use those words against him. Why did he tempt fate so much! But then.. his eyes showed seriousness in thought... the humour was just his cover. "Please dear, don't do anything silly." she hoped he would listen.
Rachel gave a little smile as she looked to the angel girl. "let me show you around the house." she got up, taking David by the hand.
David had to blush slightly at the contact of a naked devil-girl... but she had to admit it kind of was nice.
The parents watched... a bit bewildered by the sight.
Rachel gave a very quick tour. They had a small garden, a living room with a playstation 3- though it looked like it was mainly just to watch movies. Their kitchen was actually quite modern. She guessed that's where most of Carls handwork went in. Going upstairs, they had three rooms. Their parents room, a guest room as well as Rachel's room. The guest room looked small, but homely.
David had to wonder what Rachel's bedroom would be like... would it be all Gothic and dark, like some kind of horror movie? Actually... she had never been in a girl's bed room before and was a little excited if also terrified at the idea.
Opening the door, David was once again surprised by how... ordinary it all seemed. Her bedroom had a cork floor. There were a few keepsake toys on a shelf. A stuffed animal of some sort, probably of an old children's cartoon. It looked like a fairy.. or even an angel doll? David wasn't sure. She had to suppress a giggle when she saw a barbie doll... that was the last thing she expected of Rachel! Was it really hers? The angel looked over to her bed, it had a white duvet cover.
This really did not look like the bedroom of a devil... not in the slightest.
"Um... what do you think?" Rachel asked.
"I-Its... not what I expected," Said David.
Rachel had to giggle. "I'll take that as a complement."
David was glad of that. "So um... Rachel?" she asked
Rachel groaned. "Yes.. okay... so you now know my real name. Just so you know, that does not give you power over me or anything."
"H-Huh?" David looked stunned.
"Oh never mind. Just kidding." she shook her head.
"Um... why didn't you just tell me your name?"
Rachel smiled approaching closer to David. "Because... it suited me, for you to call me that."
The angel girl took a slight step back. She'll never understand Adora. Does she have to be so... dramatic about things? She winced slightly as one of her sisters tripped over something. Probably the one walking the dog... Sheesh! Sudden inpacts like that were very unsettling still. It was one thing they all took care to avoid.
"You okay?" Rachel asked concerned.
"Um.. yeah... I'm fine," She said quietly.
"I never had anyone in my room before... boy or girl. You are my first visitor in a long time..." She gave a little smile.
Anneza looked at the wolf-girl.. she was young. Too young to be a police officer... yet there she was. She seemed to be a constant companion now to her, perhaps she was assigned to look after her?
The wolf seemed to be trying to make occasional conversation with her, but the Space-girl had closed herself up. She had spent the night here, and it was starting to show. She was given a chance to have a shower in the early hours, and it was quite refreshing. Even if she was doing it while floating around. She gathered something was happening now...
She was being moved to another place.
She carefully went with them, the wolf-girl police officer was still with her. She had a little smile as if trying to be encouraging... Anneza didn't feel that encouraged. At least she wasn't hand cuffed though.
They took her to a police car, where they travelled a few miles... the space girl got to see a few of the other transformed people. She saw a lot of animal types... she wished she had become one of them instead. Instead of... this.
The irony didn't escape her. She had ultimate freedom of movement... even to escape the confines of Earth itself. Yet here she was... a prisoner. Her thoughts, unable to be conveyed. As long as she had her dress (or was naked- but she was not going to do that) She could go... anywhere. It would be so easy to just... do that.
She wondered how human she still was? How long would this body last? Would she die in weeks, or live centuries? She had no idea... but if her species was a creature that travelled the stars... given how big space was... she might live a very long time.
They finally took her to a new building..
"TAje Amrika Juna?" Anneza exclaimed. She was... in the nut house.
Well... that's... great.
"It's okay Anneza," said Will. This place is a lot better then the cell, trust me. You'll be well taken care of here. I'll visit you when I can..."
The space girl looked at the wolf blankly.
The orderly looked to Anneza, and Will." So, Anneza is our patient?" He was checking her off on the list. The police didn't really give them much on their new patient. Someone pulled a few strings to get her here...
"She's not ill, not really," explained Will. "We need her in custody for a while, but she does not really deserve to be in a cell... Grant her the privlaged comforts. Seargents orders."
The man nodded. "Is she social?"
The wolf girl glanced at Anneza. "I- um- she 'could' be..."
The man arched an eyebrow. "Could be miss? I don't want to place her with people that are actually making progress if she will hurt them..."
"She wont hurt them. I'm sure. But she can't talk. Please let her interact with them... maybe being with people will actually help some."
The man shrugged. "Well, I suppose..."
Inwardly Anneza was worried... this was a place for people who probably had very bad transformations! She never really thought about it much... who would she find here? What will they do if they cant talk to her?
I've done it... lots of times...
He said those words... truth... it was true. How many times had he pulled a trigger? But... was he a killer? If he was... how many did he kill in his time? For what? For Money? For Power? So much of his life was taken away, yet the skills remained. The instincts...
"Jenny?" He tried to call out to her. He knew that girl was in trouble... She needed him again. Right? Is that what he was here to do? To protect that child? Wherever she was, she wasn't in this strange white sunlit place. He couldn't even see his own body. Still that feeling on his wrist remained... something clasped onto him.
There was one virtue he retained in his life he remembered... just the one thing.
Never involve the children.
He always took meticulous care of that, to ensure children were never hurt. At least... not directly. But how many had he harmed by his indirect actions? If he had in the past been a murderer, did that person who's lives he took have their own families or even children?
What had he done?
He tried to guide the girls hand to her weapon, breathing as she did, to aim it at her target... he sensed the elation, of the attack, and that old instinct of his. He felt almost... proud of her? But was that really a good thing?
He... he didn't want her to be like him. He was a terrible person... his skills brought nothing but pain and misery to others. Maybe if he was erased, it would be a good thing after all. This was justice... this was for everyone he had hurt, by the choices he made in life.
The unknown figure sank to his knees, and finally said the only thing... he could think of.
"Sorry..."
