Steve's mom paused before the door...
In her mind they were a family. Whatever her son's fate... should be hers as well. She loved her so much. She always felt her son was special, but she guessed every mother thought that. In a way, didn't her change make her that much more special if not completely unique? Not that she never thought so before, but now it was just so obvious to anyone who saw her.
Her daughter was a unique flower... not something to be ashamed of.
If she stepped into the sunlight, and allowed herself to change... what would she become? Would she suddenly become male? Is that why her daughter was so worried? Perhaps.. she was thinking too fast. It was in her nature to. She moved quickly, following instinct and intuition. Such methods have not always yielded great success though...
she thought back quietly to those times when... they were wrong.
Was she wrong now?
She looked back to her daughter, even as her hand was on the door... all she had to do was open it, and the sunlight would change her into a new form. Would it be beautiful or ugly? Would it be troublesome or a boon? Would she end up at all like her daughter (The thought had a certain appeal) or would she become something entirely alien...
So many possibilities... it was enough to make her dizzy. However she was adamant to prove that, no matter what her form... she would still be Steve's mother.
Alex looked to her mother- or was that father now? The snake creature smiled to her back. Was this really Susan? This was so surreal... she wasn't sure what to think about. Even though her mother had become male, there was still the curious glint of her eyes, that reminded her of that hidden will power deep inside her. Finally unleashed, after years of their father putting it down...
Yet she harboured no anger to Andy, despite the hell he had made their lives for the past few years. If anything.. she seemed only angry at herself. It made no sense to the dragon girl.
"How... is.. Dad?" Alex asked not really sure if that was even the right way to say it.
"She's... resting. I'm afraid she has a lot to get used to." The snake man glanced quietly, wondering what to do?
"Can.. should we see him? Er.. her?" Asked Sally.
The snake man looked between the two. "Let her come to you, when she's ready. Go easy on her... this is really not very easy for her."
Andy always took being a man as a big thing... now that she had lost that... she was still in a fragile state. Susan looked at the dragon girl he assumed to be Alex. It was hard to know, but she was the one wearing her T-shirt, a size too large on her smaller frame. She was wearing the bra that came with her transformation... They were all going to have to go shopping at some point for some new clothes. Although Sally's clothes would fit Alex, he wasn't sure how his new daughter would feel about that...
This was already strange enough as it is.
After advising his children of their father, he decided to go see how Andy was. He quietly knocked on their bedroom door, and opened it. The new rabbit girl was curled up in bed, with the most haunted eyes any transformed person could have. She seemed to be trying to pull off the clothes she had.
"C-Can you help me.. take this off... I... want to wear something else." she said gently. although her eyes went a little out of focus when she saw her mate. It was just... so good, so comforting to see him.
Susan slithered to the bedside, and nodded. "Sure dear..."
Dennis woke up, finding Effie's head resting on his shoulder. He tried to nudge her gently, but he didn't want to wake her up. He smiled a bit as he looked at her pretty face... despite his very calm demeanour, he had to admit he was quite scared to be on his own in this strange world. Until Effie's group came and saved him. He wondered about that AI, and how... a minor number of them, took to acting as if they were gods in their world.
The Dos fairy was always very optimistic when it came to believing in his fellow men. Sure a lot of them were bad... but even more of them were good. He never wanted to loose that idealistic view. Even as that AI used him to do things... he was beginning to believe the AI wanted him as a friend too. Unless he was suffering Stockholm syndrome.
But Effie.. poor Effie... he ran a hand through the fairy's green hair just slightly. She was tortured by the first artificial human who found her. He wanted to do everything he could to protect her...
The whole relationship between a digital fairy, and their hosts intrigued him. Amy implied that they could be partners, helping their host in certain ways. It might be interesting to see how. As far as he could tell, Mikey was a fully self contained system, with no want or need of anything. Not even food. It might be worth looking into what their job could be with her.
Effie started to rouse, and she looked surprised to see herself on Denise's shoulder. "A- S- S- Sorry!" She yelped.
The DOS fairy gave a smile. "It's okay... actually it was quite comfortable" he grinned.
Effie blushed... she did feel comfortable. "W-Where's Mikey?"
"I think she went to see how her parents are."
Effie nodded getting up, and smoothing her skirt. Back in the real world... the huge, untouchable, real world... Actually she was feeling a desire for a little snack herself. Some artefact data maybe? "Do you think... we could use those... um... faster motion abilities here?" she asked. She blushed a bit at the idea of being in the real world with those wings...
Dennis grinned. That would really help them get around this huge place. "Only one way to find out."
"Mission accomplished," Said Tetra. "Not exactly how I wanted it to go... but a victory is a victory." They might have to be on the look out for more of these monsters. The mystery of how they got so strong with so little magic in the area... was troubling. She couldn't tell if there was another magic girl here.
A few people glanced at them... the strange girl Jenny, and her odd clothes. Although they were all transformed people, it was still a bit odd... a few people nudged their friends, to point the girl out, as the curtain hiding them started to fade away.
"Er... time to go, I think" said Tetra. "That fight made your weapon lose some power. People are starting to notice you."
"Fascinating," Said Hawkins.
They quickly made their way out of the mall, blending into the crowds. As soon as they moved away, people didn't notice them quite so much. Jenny was having a bit of trouble maintaining this strange power though. Hawkins however, simply waltzed his way through. People were avoiding him while Jenny was actively having to dodge them.
Soon they were out in the street, and into the sunlight.
"Now... what are we going to do with you..." Tetra said looking to the Agent. He was an unknown... she feared that he would mess things up for Jenny, or worse... what if he was working for the Enemy? There was no way to really know...
"T-thanks for helpin'," Said Jenny to him very grateful. There was every chance she would be dead without his intervention.
Hawkins tipped his fedora hat. "My pleasure kid," he said.
"Look... I know you mean well, but ..." Tetra sighed. "You are in way over your head here."
"A welcome is worn out, and so he shall slip into the shadows. A friend I will be, in your time of need..." Hawkins grinned, as he slowly took a few steps back.
They both blinked... and he was gone.
"T-Tetra?" Jenny gasped. An invisibility power? Where did he go?
"I can't... sense him." This was... impossible! How could she not see where he was? What kind of power did this ... creature have?
He could follow them... and they would never know.
Suddenly Jenny started to get upset, and wiped her eyes as tears flowed down. She shimmered out of her Magic girl mode, turning back to her normal dress, as her bracelet gave a quick glow in acknowledgement.
The cat girl looked concerned. "W-what's wrong Jenny? You did a good job.. I'm sorry I didn't mean to get mad at you before. You'll do better I promise! I'll teach you all you-"
"I-" She started. "I- I want- my mommy..."
