Dennis watched as Effie looked at the data of her existence. He wasn't a programmer, but he was sure looking at your own code was probably not very healthy for you. He was concerned though. He could see the seeds of an obsession in her eyes as she looked at the code. What was it she wanted anyway? Dennis was quite happy with his new existence. A way to explore a new world...

wait maybe that will help.

"Effie?" Dennis tapped her shoulder.

"Mmm?" she asked glancing up from her editor. She had just worked out that one loop seemed to be a time keeping system of some sort. An event started, it accumulated a count, then ended... But glancing up she lost the references it was calling. Darn it, this counter had reset itself now and it looked like it wouldn't start again any time soon. "What is it?"

"I was thinking... why don't we explore the Internet?" Dennis smiled at the thought.

"Huh? That's crazy!" Effie looked worried. She couldn't tell him the truth of that either... if she went on the net, they would know who she was... Dennis... might also find out.

"Come on, it'll be fun. You remember Amy, she said its safe if we keep our eyes open... and it is our native world now-"

"This is my native world!" Effie almost shouted it. "The internet is not my world!"

Dennis stepped back hurt.

"Oh- Look.. I'm sorry" Effie looked down sadly.

Dennis gave an easy going smile. "It's okay. I'm just trying to cheer you up. I'll keep you safe there, I promise" he assured with another smile.

Effie wasn't sure what was worse. The fact that he offered the help like that, or that she felt assured by his words. She just... couldn't say how she was tortured there. How could anyone understand just how vulnerable it feels, to have an entire world against you. To enter an environment where the elements themselves could take away pieces of your core, all the while everyone just laughs...

Effie looked back to Dennis. Maybe she should be honest with him. "I can't go on the internet... I... did some bad things, and waiting for things to quieten a bit."

Dennis looked at her concerned again. The young girl never mentioned anything like that. What bad thing could she have done to put herself in effective exile? Is that why she dismissed the digital world as part of her world? Dennis wasn't sure how Effie handled it, but being in the real world they couldn't manipulate anything. Not a door, a pen, nothing... to him it was making him go a little mad. Effie just sat there sometimes looking around, with that long full look...

The only thing they could touch properly... was each other.

It was probably why they held each other and held hands as often as they did. It was assuring to both of them to feel something that felt like flesh and blood... even if it wasn't really flesh and blood.

Still they had a new world... one which was suited for them. Maybe he could convince her to explore it.

Jenny rested on the large bed. The curtains were closed and she was getting some much needed rest. It didn't matter that it was still early in the day for sleep. With everything that had happened to her... rest felt good.

Her long white hair, felt luxurious on her body, as she leaned her cheek into it. Why did this all feel so strange? Who was she? She wrapped the covers tightly around herself... she could hear the occasional car going past her window, the various sounds of life. Why couldn't she remember... anything? Her mind was such a fog... they mentioned the sunlight, and that it changed people... why did she end up in the sunlight? Didn't her parents care what happened to her?

She looked at the bracelet that was her totem... it had once been a handcuff... when she put it on... she felt something. A feeling of fear and dread, and was relieved that it became a bracelet. Also what happened to her in that other world beyond the door she made? She never felt anything like that before...

Just what was a magic girl?

"You still awake?" Tetra asked, as she appeared behind the bed stand.

Jenny looked at the cat girl. "Um.. sort of.. yeah..." She admitted, though her eyes were half closed. "Were you and Ms Muriel upset with me?"

"Oh no, far from it. We just have... different ideas on the best way to help you." She smiled. "But we'll both be here for you..."

"Did the sun get you too?" She asked concerned, as she looked down to see the little cat like woman.

"Yep... oh don't give me that look. It's not so bad. I have a purpose in my life... you."

"Me?"

"Yep... Soon as I changed, I knew I had to find you." Tetra smiled proudly making a little purr.

"How'd you know 'twas me?"

"I just knew..." She shrugged.

"Do I... hav'ta fight?" Jenny asked, a little unsure about it.

Tetra looked sadly, as she glanced at the door to her room. If Muriel was around she might say no... but the job was just too important. "I... wont say you have to... Jenny. But... there are bad things out there. You're one of the few that can do something about it... that world you were in, this world might become just like it."

Jenny thought about it. But she was flying in that world.. it looked like a cartoon, and she didn't see anything that bad in it. "It's... a bad place?" She asked.

"It's a world with its own rules... just like this one has its rules too. Even though they are... changing. You are one of the ones that will... get to decide, where it will go... I think. But it is completely up to you... Tetra jumped onto the floor. "Look.. get some rest. We'll talk about it later... sweet dreams kid," She smiled.

Jenny was already asleep, holding onto one of the pillows like it was a toy.

Tiffany wondered if that angel girl had a death wish or not...

She had the urge to clip her wings, her fury flickering in the shadowy aura she now possessed. She ate alone in the dinner hall, everyone was giving her a lot of space. She had an entire two... three tables to herself.

She knew a little about David, mostly that before he was a complete wimp. As an angel, the first time she encountered her, it looked like that was still the case. So what in the world happened in the space of five minutes that made her suddenly be willing to fight her? Was it to do with her transformation? In any case, the situation simply would not do. If she backed down to a wimp like David, she would lose all status.

She saw the angel girl sitting near Jon... and glanced at her food.... hm... maybe she could arrange an accident.

She calmly walked with the remains of the gravy food, behind the angel girl, and dumped the contents on her head.

The angel girl winced, feeling the gravy stains all over her clothes, tricking down her wings staining them.

"Oh, Sorry about that..." Tiffany smirked.

She was caught unaware as the light from her halo suddenly went off.
