Alex looked back through his bookbag. A flashlight to see by if he wound up hiding somewhere dark, snacks and his DS for the wait, a change of clothes just in case... It seemed like a pretty sensible assortment.

He wondered, though, how easily he'd be able to blend in. He'd heard that some transformees looked almost human; would he stick out enough for anybody to realize that he wasn't supposed to be there?

He also thought about Susan. Did she suspect he was up to something? He couldn't admit to it, or she'd want in on it, never to be outdone by him, but he thought he could give her the slip before they headed home at the end of the night. Not that he objected to her presence, but if things went south...he didn't want to drag her into it.

Tomorrow was going to be an interesting day...

David felt very on-edge. It wasn't really because of the P.E. clothing thing (though that was getting her some very odd looks, mostly from Adora;) she remembered that she'd been able to undress before without making anyone else naked, so it must be only what they were wearing that got duplicated across the group.

No, it was Tiffany that she was worried about. Whatever she was, there was a bad feeling emanating from her. Most of the rest of the class seemed a little unnerved by her presence, but it really struck a chord in David, and she could feel her sisters' confusion at the unease they shared.

Why was she here, anyway? Didn't she have one more day of detention? Or had the three days included the day of the incident? Why did she have to come here and project that jagged, flickering shadowy aura and radiate...

Greed. Pride. Lust for power. Spite. How was David able to tell this? This wasn't something she'd been able to feel with anybody else, but she could feel them emanating from Tiffany like noxious vapors from a tire fire. What was this girl?

David really didn't even care; she just wanted to make all this go away. If only she could just scrub these things away; if only she could free Tiffany of these awful soul-blemishes...but you couldn't just make someone be a better person.

She frowned. She was gradually getting used to the stream of sensations from her sisters, but some still stood out. One of them, whichever was in P.E., was jogging around the track. At least she...they were wearing a sports bra, but the motion of her breasts and the stride of her legs as she did so was a bit distracting.

Jon sighed. She hated to admit it, but Karyn was probably right; unless Brittany was able to provide a lot more specifics, there was no good way to find the other three artifacts short of using the stone to play Marco Polo and probably draining it of whatever charge it was accumulating.

And...well, she still didn't know that she wanted to press Brittany too much. Not that this wasn't important, but she was a person, not Jon's personal oracle.

No, she was probably just grasping at straws in order to avoid spending another five months as this. Jon wasn't as bothered by the slug part as the girl part, but that didn't mean she was okay with it. There were a number of inconveniences, like the copious water intake required to stay hydrated and the way her mucus formed a sort of vacuum seal overnight and left her peeling herself off the bed in the morning, and no real advantages, aside from having an easy way to freak out Tiffany.

And even that probably wouldn't work more than once or twice. Which was kind of a problem, considering how Jon was probably second only to Sarah on Tiffany's shit list right now. She wasn't sure that Tiffany would go so far as to directly attack either of them, but she wasn't looking forward to finding out what she would do.

Maybe she could just hang out with people - safety in numbers and all that. Maybe she'd introduce Brittany and Tim to Karyn...?
