We spent the next few minutes trying to figure out the results from Julianna’s wish. Apparently, I had already spent the day at the bois’ school, which made sense. Today was the first day after spring break, after all, and Jonatha and I had supposedly made the bet then. My Facebook feed was full of gossip about me wearing a dress.

Predictably, most—if not all—of the gurls were teasing me about my situation. What rational gurl would want to spend any amount of time wearing bois’ clothes? Bois and gurls were separated at school for a reason.

“Zane! Julianna!” My dad called. “Dinner’s ready!” I put my phone down and made doubly sure that the stone was stashed safely away before I took Julianna’s hand and led hym downstairs.

Both of my brotherelles and my mom were already sitting at the table by the time we reached the kitchen. Mom was checking hir phone (probably hir emails), and Jonatha and Michelle-Anne were chatting away about something. Dad had brought an extra chair for Julianna, and so we took our seats at the table.

“So, Zoanna,” Jonatha began, putting emphasis on Zoanna with a big grin on hys face. “How was your first day at bois’ school?”

“Jonatha!” Dad scolded hym as hei began serving out the meal. “Don’t tease your sister. It’s bad enough that you had this bet but you don’t need to tease hir any more than the poor gurl has probably suffered already.”

Jonatha slouched a little in hys chair and pouted but relented. “Alright, Dad, I’m sorry.”

“I still don’t know why you went through with this.” Mom asked, putting hir phone away and shaking hir head. “Can you imagine? My only dawter attending a bois’ school and wearing dresses. Next thing you know, Zane will be dating a gurl and wanting to become a househusbenne.”

“Mom!” Zane protested. “It’s just a stupid bet alright? I’m regretting taking part already. You don’t know what it’s like having to wear bois’ clothing. I was wearing a bra, for Christ's sake!”

At this point, both Jonatha and Michelle-Anne burst out giggling. I’m sure that the image of me wearing a pink lace bra and panties was very amusing to them, but for me, it was humiliating. Mom put hir hand up, a look of disgust on hir face.

“Alright, enough. I don’t want to hear any more boi stuff. Let’s talk about something else.”

I couldn’t agree more and, thankfully, Dad launched into a conversation about some gossip that hei had heard from hys fellow househusbennes.

After dinner, Julianna and I retreated back upstairs to my room. Fortunately, no more was said about my current predicament, and the rest of the dinner conversation had been pleasant enough. There was an awkward silence between us as we looked at each other, unsure where to begin.

“I’m sorry about what Mom and I said at dinner,” I apologised. I had noticed Julianna looking hurt during our exchange. “I’m sure that being a boi is fun and all...but I’m a gurl and you know how it is. Bois and gurls don’t mix.” Julianna nodded gently.

“I understand,” hei replied softly. “Really I do. Can you imagine if I was in your position? I don’t want to be wearing gurls clothes any more than you do wearing bois clothes. I love being a boi. I love clothes, I love makeup, and of course I love pink, but...it still hurts me to hear you say those things.”

I nodded and pulled hym into a gentle embrace.

“Let’s just put it behind us and figure out how the hell I’m going to survive the next term. I don’t see any other dresses lying around do you?”

Julianna released the hug and looked around, hys eyes widening as hei realised that, indeed, there were no signs of other dresses. Hei went over to my closet and, sure enough, it was still full of gurls’ clothes.

Hei thought about it for a moment and then, it was like a light bulb went off in hys head. Hei looked at me expectantly.

“Zane-baby. I have an idea, but you’re not going to like it.”

I sighed.

“Probably not, but if it’s going to help we might as well get on with it.”

“What if you could have all of your boi clothes and still keep your regular gurl clothes? That way, you can dress as a boi for school and then, when you get home, go back to being a gurl.”

“How?”

“Can I use the stone?” I hesitated. After hys last wish, I was reluctant to let hym have the stone again. “Please!” hei pleaded. “I promise that I’ll be careful.” I got the stone out of its box and handed it to hym.

“I wish that, for the duration that Zane has to attend the bois’ school, Zane would have a secret compartment in hir closet for all of hir boi clothes.”

We were forced to look away as the stone granted hys wish. When the stone had finished, Julianna jumped up excitedly.

“Come on,” hei said. “Let’s take a look.” Crossing over to my closet, hei opened it up and, after a bit of searching, we eventually found it. “Wow!” Julianna exclaimed, letting out a little whistle.

“You have a better taste in fashion than I do,” hei joked. “It’s all pink.”

“What?” No way!” I peered over hys shoulder and sure enough, a lot of the clothes were pink—although, thankfully, I did spot some articles of clothing that were in different colors.

“Let’s try some on!” Julianna practically squealed. I sighed.

“Do we have to?” Julianna looked at me with those puppy-bitch eyes. “Fine, but only a couple.” Squealing with excitement, hei began digging through the closet.
