It was clear that we were going to far. "Let's go. Toby's getting tired from his task." I said. The others looked like they did not want to go but were willing to follow me. Just as I turned, Toby grabbed my arm. "No! I... I should bring you to some of the PEPs that I do missions with sometimes. You... you're all not normal!" he said. "Is this something that you want, or is this another task you've been given?" I asked. He balked and said "No! It's my decision to bring you. Please come." I sighed and said "We are not going in the sewers. We're going to meet in a public place or not at all. Understand? This is not negotiable." He looked at us and said "Okay. I will contact them. I just need a moment. Don't go anywhere for a bit." We waited as he ducked into the alley for a minute. When he returned he led us to a park in the center of the town. He sat us down on a bench and told us to wait. Within five minutes, 3 more cyborgs approached us. They were also wearing baggy, tattered clothes, but more so than Toby's were. "Why do we have to come to clean your mess up for you!?" one of them said. "I'll owe you." Toby said.
That seemed to be enough for the group. "What are you guys going to do!? You can't do anything to us in a public park like this. People will be on you so fast, you won't get anywhere before getting killed." They looked around and saw all the people walking around on their day. Some of the civilians had already stopped to stare at us on account of the party's 3 non humans and the three knights in metal armor. "She's right, you know." another cyborg that walked up said. He was wearing better fitting blue jeans and a gray t-shirt. I guessed he was the top of the pack. He was with a female cyborg with the inverse outfit. "Well, what are we going to do about it." one of the other females spoke up. "You could start by giving us your names." Elsa spoke up. The jeans guy was PEP-04695 and PEP-04808 was the female on his arm. The three straggly ones were PEP-06509, PEP-07044 and PEP-08579 with PEP-07044 being the only other female. We gave them our names and they looked at us. I did not notice them backing up from us until it was too late. A group of kids splashed us with salt water.
Nothing happened and it put everyone in the area at ease. The cyborgs wisely got out of the way and did not return where the dangerous liquid was still on the ground. A misstep could out them all. The straggly ones did not have proper shoes. Only PEP-06509 had flip flops. PEP-04695 and PEP-04808 both had black hair. The male had gray eyes and the female's were blue. Toby had light brown hair and honey brown eyes. The female bum had blond hair with dark blue eyes. Her hair was long and dirty while the female with jeans had up it in a ponytail. PEP-06509 had auburn hair and light blue eyes. PEP-08579's hair was platinum blond and he had light green eyes. I could also see that they had similar body types meant to be pleasing. Both females had hourglass shapes. All of them were about the average height for their sex. There was more to it. PEP-04695 and PEP-06509 had athletic bodies. PEP-08579 was thin and Toby had an average weight and musculature to him. If it wasn't for the fact the bums were dirty and in ratty clothes, they could all be models. It was time to leave them though.
For our convenience, I decided to just name them all. Jeans guy was Cedric and the female with him was Emma. The bum female was Ricola. The bum guys were Eric for PEP-06509 and Cole for PEP-08579. I pointed them all out and made sure they remembered them. The cyborgs being named looked annoyed. "Hey! Don't just go on naming us like we're some butlers or sex-roids!" Cole snapped. "They're sex-roids here!? This city is the best." Brett chimed in. Cole just groaned. "Okay. We have to go back to the camp. We might see you around so remember your codenames." I said. We then left them in the park. We took a long way around and made it back. The sight we saw was horrible. Several of the higher leveled cyborgs were shooting the pilgrims in the camp. We had to do something. I looked at Paul and Brett. "Break off and get as many fighters as you can. We need to keep some of the people alive." They nodded and left the party. The remaining 4 of us charged down into the camp and rallied the troops. I added the next 2 paladins to come over to us. It was just in the nick of time.
