I was able to calm down and looked out the window. The scenery was very beautiful. Less beautiful was the fireball that was tossed against the window. The fire did not engulf the carriage in flames. It just left a scorch mark and that was it. Probably the flames came from a low leveled fire user. We all got out since we were under attack. I was offered a retinue of loyal Likin to go with us as an escort. I declined them coming with us because I wanted to be able to move around independently. The decision was coming to haunt me. I drew my greatsword and looked around. Several light gray skinned Likins in cloaks with blue eyes appeared and closed in on us. It was clear what they were after. "Assassins! Keep close to me!" I called out. The concubines were terrified and did what I asked. Shayne said "I can handle them!" and charged off towards them. I just watched to see if that was true. He did get a few hits off on the closest one. The others then attacked from a distance with water whips. He cried out in pain before jumping back and drawing a bow from his back. He only got off a shot or two.

Deadly precision guided their attack as they formed water over Shayne's head before splashing down on him. The water covered his whole head in a large orb of swirling blue water. No matter how much Shayne clawed and thrashed around in front of them, the water slowly drowned the life out of him. I had no real reason to save him. Him dying actually saved me the trouble of getting rid of him. With a whole new continent and several overpowered children, I did not need anyone to hold be back or bring me down. Because he was so high leveled, it actually took quite a while for him to go down. In the meantime, my concubines were throwing fireballs and breathing fire. It was much too weak to do any damage to these high level Likins they were already weak to. After Shayne finally died, I sprung into action. I ran over and bashed one over the head with the hilt of the greatsword. The assassin fell unconscious. I turned to do the same to another of the assassins but got a water whip to the eyes. I was at a disadvantage with five of them against me. The water blinded my eyes only momentarily.

Even a 5 on one numbers game meant nothing with my greatsword. I went around knocking them out with jabs using the hilt. It was a non-lethal strike, but the damage it gave was too much for anyone to stay on their feet. I looked at my 3 concubines. "I want you to absorb them. That way you'll be stronger." The went up to me and looked closer at the downed assassins. Eyo walked up to one of them and lifted the cloak. "She looks like a really high class Likin. Look at her skin. Do you really think we can absorb them?" he asked skeptically. I uncloaked the others. There were 3 males and 3 females. "Do you still have those females Bonded to you?" I asked him. He just gave me a sour look and said "Why!? You don't want to mate. I sent them home." I then told them to focus on absorbing the females first. Eyo gained a determined look on his face. "Well, it was either us or you. Don't pout or complain." he said as he placed a hand over her face. He grunted and groaned in pain as he slowly absorbed her. Koma and Raimi also tried to absorb the assassins. Koma panted hard from the strain.

Focus, strength and dedication were needed for this. There was no way that Likins of the concubine's levels should be able to accomplish this at all. Normally, any of the assassins would be able to absorb them all with a single thought. That meant they would all need to reach deep within themselves for this. Raimi was having the most difficulty with the task. "Damn! She's too strong.... I-I can't!" he cried out. I went behind him and held him close. He gasped in surprise. "You can do it Raimi. I know you're a fighter. You just have to believe in yourself." I told him. He looked back at me with a blush on his face. He then turned towards the assassin and redoubled his efforts. It took almost a full hour for them to accomplish it. Raimi was drenched in dark red sweat and trembling, but the assassin was gone. Raimi groaned from growing pains. He had his skin lighten up and his hair and eyes changed color. It went from a pale red to a vibrant indigo. Eyo had finished up with his assassin. Koma was still doing his very best. I went over to support him as well. He was finally able to put her away with help.
