Becca managed to excuse herself from the others, retreating silently to what is to be her temporary bedroom. Thankfully it was unoccupied and right now she really didn't want to be with anyone. She closed the door, throwing the dress onto the bed. The kindness of the gift lost on her for the moment.
She looked vaguely around, trying to hold on to memory and ideas that were fleeting so quickly from her grasp. Biff was not particularaly smart but he did know his multiplication tables... yesterday she tested herself and was able to remember the multiples of six...but right now, all she can do was up to four. and had to use her fingers.
"I... I'm Bi-fff" She tried vainly to say her name managing to hold on to it despite the insistance of her new name.
Dear God what has happened to her? The strange powers of the sun affected peoples bodies in such terrifying, and sometimes even cruel ways. But it had done so much worse to her. It had taken her mentality. She stared into a small mirror at the young girl she had become, a pit of anger at the reflection. The reflection didn't mimic any of those emotions at all, it just look sadly back at her. As she quietly looked with all those brimming yet hidden emotions a sudden realisation occoured. She looked... ordinary. She was perhaps the most ordinary 'creature' produced by the sunlight. Unlike any of the others, she 'could' have a normal life... starting with a normal childhood.
'but its not my life...' she thought quietly.
Biff... the Bully. That was his life. Perhaps it was not a great life, but it was his. Who was he? Was he really so horrible and cruel, that the world... the sun.. God himself, decided that it was better to just erase him from existance? Was he really that odious, and evil? Its true... he remembered being lonely... and angry, just so incredibly angry all the time. Nobody ever questioned why and he wasn't sure he can remember why either.
Everyone was just... so happy to see him dead.
"Biff... Gone"... She couldn't even use the word death! She once again got into a staring match with her reflection... the same sad look greeting her. Come on just use a grownup word.. swear, say something smart! Anything! just one swear word!
"F.fff....f...." tears just welled in her eyes as she sank onto the floor, crying. "Can't.. say... it..."
It was strange. Becca's mind existed like a fog. He had become... senile. He could no longer take care of himself, and was expected to be... a little girl now. Even encouraged... why were they encouraging it? Its not fair. The others were all so natural.. they kept their own minds, Mickey had probably become smarter! But Biff- now Becca had lost it.
She glanced at the dress like it was a prison sentence.
"W-h-y" she rubbed her eyes as her heart started to break, the heart of the being that was once Biff, a heart that had closed itself from everyone for so many years... He wanted to be his strong, adult, male self again. To be able to think for himself again... just that.. even if just that...
Biff was alone with his thoughts, fighting to express each one, in a body that was too simple to comprehend anything.
She needed to escape... she climbed onto the bed, retreating to the embrace of sleep, accidentally kicking the dress onto the floor. The pillow weted with her silent tears.
A dream was all Biff can ever be.
