Kevin fumed as he went into his own room. "Urgh!" He threw some random object off a desk. He was so.. so mad! Peter and Diana ruined the one secret thing they had. It was such a boring town until they discovered the ancient ship- sure it was broken and the only thing that worked was the door.. but that didn't matter. It was a fort.. a fort that could withstand anything; a place for someone to escape into, away from the town and make it into anything someone might want.

"Now what am I s'posed to do?" He buried his head on the wooden desk. His room was what one might expect. A few scrolls for school, a balance for learning how weights of coin worked- he was the son of an innkeeper. Not rich but not exactly poor. Still he was to be a teenager soon and he was supposed to be finding his place in the world- or end up just another innkeeper himself. It would be a secure income but.. damn it he didn't want to do that! Just.. house sitting while hearing the tales of travellers? His sister should be doing that- but she just seemed more free to explore her own desires, simply by marrying someone in another trade. She often spoke of marrying a painter and would travel the world...

What could Kevin had done, being the kid who found a piece of ancient technology? Something so rare and precious that there were few if any experts. Heck maybe he could have sold his story, or become an expert in it or well- anything!

All this was moot now though.. all gone in a puff of smoke or- whatever that ship did. "I wish it had been just me who found the thing." If only It was just.. chance really. Kevin met Peter and was rather curious of the bunny-boy. He had seen a few animal folk, but never a changed human before. That was just really rare- except maybe for the odd curse by a witch in legend or the descendants of Robin's Heath. Peter was one of those descendants and yes- he did tease him a bit for it. Then they came across the ship Kevin was in awe of it, he half imagined it could take them anywhere until they realised it was broken by the millenniums of time.. Peter was going to tell everyone and he challenged him to an arm wrestling contest-

Kevin won of course, being much stronger and slightly older, thus the secret club was formed. For an entire month they played with the ship making it their fort. Then some girl had to come in and mess it all up! She was going to tell on them, he knew that. He lost his temper a bit and knocked something- it was her fault not his!

He pulled up his chair, placing his feet on the desk. There had to be something else he could do- though now his hand itched a bit at the palm. "I guess I should thank them for saving me," he thought with a sigh not completely out of touch of the fact that he might have disappeared with the ship but then again would that have even been so bad? To be some explorer sailing the stars of oceans perhaps even meeting the Ancient race themselves!

He rubbed his finger a bit noting quietly the absence of his ring. That ring the ring the ship took he should be more upset about losing it but- he didn't have the energy to express it. That ring tied him to a past he never had, the ship was for a potential future and was a far -far- larger loss. He was a young boy who lost the past -and- the future in one sudden burst of ancient energy. He clenched his fist at the thought of it-

"What the-" he blinked. Etched on his hand was the outline of some kind of.. snowflake? Like a tiny piece of crystal. It was small, on the center of his palm no bigger then a pin-head. He tried to rub it off.. the gentle glow of it started to diminish away...

"weird.." Kevin muttered. Then he felt an odd sensation as something tickled his noise like- he was about to sneeze. "A-A- A Choo!" He gasped. That felt weird for some reason. He started to rub his nose with his arm when- he felt something. His arm brushed across his hair, even though it should never have done so. Locks of hair, tickling his arm. "What the-" The young boy got up fearing something very strange had just happened. Indeed something strange did happen as he felt the evidence around him. He quickly walked the empty hall way to the bathroom, feeling something on his head and shoulders tickling him.

He looked into the bathroom mirror and gasped. Somehow his hair had become long. Not just by a few inches, but the blonde shiny hair spilled all the way down his back! Two rivets of flowing golden strands grew down each side of his head perfectly styled. He blinked a few times and felt it "It's real!" He gave it all a tug as the new hair with its almost unnatural shine clung to his scalp. He frowned at it. "Damn it- it looks all girly!" It was still his normal face though, still his normal build with somewhat broad shoulders and flattened facial features.. puffed out cheeks of youth-

"Not gonna let anyone see this..." he muttered. He knew there was a pair of scissors on his desk. Quickly going back down the hallway to his room, practically running he could feel the waterfall of hair touching the small of his back. It felt- so bizarre and weird!

Finally.. he returned to the bathroom when- he felt another sneeze. "A-A-" he tried to hold it in, his cheeks puffing a bit with the involuntary spasm of muscle as the rush of air was halted.

"What the!" Now his hair was made into strange pig-tails. He felt the hair, which had somehow wrapped itself into braids- two braids adorning the sides of his head, allowing flowing locks of blond to run down the side in a rather exotic fashion, even slightly past his broad shoulders. If it was on a girl it might be considered quite adorable. Not really knowing what was going on, he decided to use the scissors and slowly cut it all off.

The whole process took a lot of time. There was just an awful lot of hair, and it felt quite tough. With perseverance though he managed it. Soon though the entire bathroom was riddled with blonde locks of hair, some of them still tied into ribbons. He gave a look to the mirror. His hair was still slightly longer then he was used to in some places and for some reason it looked more.. shiny then he remembered- however it was mostly back to normal. He never had a good haircut before anyway and had cut it off himself before, just never when it was so long. He glanced around wondering what to do with all the hair-

There was a knock at the door. "Dad says dinner's ready. Can I come in?"

"Uh- yeah, I'm coming out."

As his sister entered she gasped. "What in the name of the Stars happened here?" She blinked at all the hair on the floor.

"Uh- one of the guests probably did it. We've been gettin' weird ones."

Mary looked oddly then nodded. "Well- yes I suppose so. How bizarre. I guess I best clean it up before dinner then."

"Yeah- uh- sorry. I'm gonna go to dinner now."
