Since the highest leveled paladins were in my party, I was put in charge. The other paladins met and it was decided we should organize the fighters into a organized and centralized force. I was given command of the cavalry. As it was being discussed, I did not want to ask if it was because I was a centaur. The centaurs and knights on horseback would be my responsibility. That made some sense to me. We had a large company forming. Sir Gifford from Arkton took command of the whole thing. I was totally fine with that. My cavalry platoon had 48 people. That included all the centaurs. Sir Michel took the archers and crossbowmen. That was a large group of 50 monks. A female paladin took on the militiamen a few of her fellow knights. The rest of the paladins were led by Sir Gifford. The monks specializing in all melee weapons and unarmed combat split into two with the most senior among them being made the leaders. Archbishop was not coming, but he sent Father Conrad with him as a proxy. Before we could leave, the ships had to be stocked up for the journey. That was going to take a week.
Just as I was making my final preparations, I was visited by three figures. I recognized two of them right away. They were Paul and Omnikid. The other was a Tree Fairy that smiled at me. He was fairly tall with rosy skin and large, round yellow eyes. He was wearing black short shorts and a matching crop top with a boob window. His hair was short, light green and curly. His his back were large fairy wings. The top wing was a large shiny green oval shape. The bottom was a shimmering golden teardrop pointing to his opposite shoulder blades. "Hey Terry. It's Brett." he said. Brett was also on the swim team. "Got room for three more?" Paul asked. It turns out that I was totally right when Paul told me about their plans. The heat from the Sages was getting to close for comfort. Using the portal in Epic City to go to a different world was a no go. It only opened when a certain amount of Players had explored a new world or if a level 110 Player went to try exploring a world at random. There was no way that either would happen anytime soon. Going on pilgrimage was way better. I just smirked at them.
Loving the fact I was right, I said "Listen. I am the cavalry commander for the company going over. Paul, you have Omnikid. Brett, you had better max out your mounted combat and find a horse. I'll vouch for you if you can get a set of holy symbols." They all nodded and went their separate ways. I had two more to add to my platoon. The small addition would not mean much. No one would notice it in the paperwork. As long as there had holy symbols, a person would only assume they were just Player latecomers to the site. Father Conrad went around the city telling everyone that preparations were finished. When everyone made it back from the many temples and monasteries in Wreta, we would board and set sail. I was looking forward to the trip. The day soon arrived and Archbishop Holger was there to send us off. He made the militias all recognized paladin orders and ordained all of the monks. That was certainly a great boon. For the already serving paladins, he promised that we would all be given land and noble titles if we were to find and colonize some territory. That was very great.
