Finally on the road, the quest line officially began. My job was to protect the group and help deliver the message to the king of the Chegow Republic. This would be much harder than most missions of this type since there were still assassins and bounty hunters after us. On the road, several approached and we had to fight them. Even when I told one of the bounty hunters to escort us, they demanded we submit to the magic chains they used for their slaves. That was obviously a no go situation for me, so we just killed her. Every so often, the rest of them needed to take a break and set up camp. That meant I had to take watch and defend the camo from outside threats such as monsters and bandits as well as the others. Crossing the border into Chegow just enhanced the struggle. Since we were wanted and on a hostile diplomatic mission, everyone not in the Church of the Sky was wary or full on disdainful of us. The assassins and bounty hunters sent after us were even more invested in seeing a group like us dead or in chains. Everyone rose to the challenge though, and we reached Mawl City.

Just getting there was party of the journey. We had to get in the city, get an audience with the king, and deliver the message. Father Micah took care of that by just telling the guards what we were hear for. There were a lot of very official locking documents and everything. Luckily, one of them was of the faith. They let us in without a second thought. Now it was just waiting in the capitol city until we were summoned to the palace. We sent Sir Michel ahead to send the petition for and audience. There was no telling how long it would take. The capitol wanted us in chains, so it was only bounty hunters that were after us. They sent their gold and diamond ranks after us. I was impressed with how bold some of them were. They had no fear. The guards did not stop any of them either. In fact, when we won, they hassled us about it. It was no use as the hunters were instantly killed by Mikey and Jamie. I wondered what this was doing to their guilds. NPCs could spawn in to fill in certain roles, but at some point, there would come a time where there would be few members of the guilds left. Not that it mattered.

At some point, the various Players would move in and take up those spots. We were not concerned about what would happen to them. All of us were being housed in the various churches and other owned properties. This was a special mission for the church and they recognized that. The assassins still tried to attack us while we were there. That pissed off the clergy and parishioners of the city. They began to complain as well. Because the king could not ignore all of us and the disruption in the capitol, we were granted an audience sooner. Hearing that really raised the morale of the militiamen. They were far from home and a bit frazzled from all of the constant hostile attacks against them. Sir Michel, in his former role as captain of the guard, was only able to do so much for them. I reminded them to make sure they took time to get some rest and take a bath. "You are representing the Church to the king of the Chegow Republic. We have to show them all what Estlor men look like so they won't even think about messing with us anymore." I told them. "But you're not a man or from Estlor!" one replied.
