Having a shower was a brand new experience for Sapphire; there was so much hair! Of course, Sapphire couldn’t help but notice that her long locks of hair were the same blonde as the other two people that he had seen this morning so maybe her entire family were blondes. Sapphire shuddered a little, thinking of Sarah McMillan and then Karyn. Karyn, where was she in this world? Did she even exist in this world? Sapphi made a mental note to make a wish to know where Karyn was, but first, she had to get dressed.

Stepping out of the shower, she reached for the dark blue towel that was on the towel rack and dried herself off, then she grabbed the bathrobe and slipped that back on. Opening the door, Sapphire found that the blonde boy? (she really needed to figure that out) was waiting for her, arms folded and looking cross.

“About time!” she huffed and pushed past Sapphi, slamming the door behind her. Sapphire blinked for a moment, getting mental images of a younger version of Sarah McMillan floating in her head before she shook them clear and returned to her bedroom.

The first thing that Sapphire did after reaching the safe confines of her bedroom was reach for her stone, thankful that it had come with her after transporting her to...wherever this was. She needed some answers.

“I wish to know what’s going on,” she said, gripping the stone tightly. Her eyes fluttered for a moment, as if she had something in her eye and then suddenly, knowledge was poured into her head.

It turns out that she was in a world where women were in charge and the boys had boobs. The boys even got pregnant in this world! Sapphire sighed. This wasn’t what she had wanted. This wasn’t what she had wished for. She tried wishing back to her normal family, but nothing happened. It seemed that she was stuck here. At least, in the process, the stone had given her the knowledge of her new family.

Apparently, this was Jay Duncan’s family, or rather, the Jay of this world. Her name was now Jade and she had four siblings, including Sapphire—and as Sapphi had guessed earlier, they were all named after jewels. There was Crystal, the oldest boi of the family; she was in college and so wasn’t around as much, then there was Jade and Sapphire and lastly, Diamond. She was the boi that Sapphire had just beat to the bathroom. Heck, even their dad was called Rubi.

Wow! Sapphire exclaimed, flopping on to her bed. This was just too much. First her mom was coming out as a lesbian and then suddenly she was in an entirely different world and a member of a completely different family. She really needed to be more careful with her wishes.

“Sapphi! Are you ready? The bus will be here soon.”

“Shit!” Sapphi exclaimed. In her attempt to find out everything about her situation she had forgotten that she still had to go to school and she wasn’t even dressed yet! Glancing over at her clock and then the open closet, there was no way that she’d be able to get dressed in time. Especially not as a girl. Grabbing her stone, she made a wish.

“I wish that I was dressed and ready for school.” Sapphire closed her eyes as the stone granted her wish and then opened them. “Wow!” she exclaimed, impressed with the results.

She looked at herself in the floor-length mirror. The stone had dressed her in the school’s cheerleading uniform, emblazoned with “Valley Lake” on it. Even the name of this place has changed…? Besides that, at least, Sapphire recognized the white uniform with the dark blue trim and the matching white sneakers. Her makeup was tasteful, and her blonde hair was tied back into a high ponytail. Looking around, she spotted a white purse into which she slipped the stone and a dark blue cell phone just as the door opened.

“Hey,” the boi greeted her, smiling. This must be Jade, Sapphire thought. Squinting, Sapphi could see the resemblance although they never really hung out much back in her world. Like Sapphire, Jade was wearing a cheerleading uniform only instead of a blue trim, hers was a deep green. They must have customized it to be able to tell who was who.

“The bus is here,” Jade informed her. “Let’s go.” Sapphire nodded and followed her new brother out of the house.
