Sarah seemed oblivious to all this, more concerned about the food. He tried to engage her in conversation, but, while she seemed aware she couldn't stop eating, she was too consumed by it to tell him much about what she was feeling.
He realized, after they kept refilling her water and hay baskets, that she wasn't suffering an allergic reaction. She was getting larger...probably whatever they were doing to her required a lot of energy.
He wasn't sure he could trust Madison, but she'd said Sarah would be as good as new...that could mean a lot of different things.
He nodded off, tired, and suddenly stirred when he heard a sound, and looked over to see Sarah moving on her own for the first time in...he wasn't sure how long they'd been there, with no sense of time in this place.
He hurried over to her. The way she was moving... "Sarah, can you...stand up?"
He watched her try, but clearly, her body wasn't capable of it any longer, and she was locked in a crouching position, one that her body seemed to be still adapting to.
As she stretched, he could see and hear bones adjusting themselves into new positions. She let out a low moan, but began to move more and more freely as her joints began to respond to her commands. She was eventually able to move around the room, although not very fast.
Jon wondered what was in store for him.
