"The female shows signs of sluggishness," the vixen studying them declared. "Have you fed the female yet?"
The horse nearest her shook his head, and went off, returning with a feedbag. He entered the cage and moved to Sarah's side, holding the bag up to her mouth.
"What are you doing to her? I know you understand English," Jon said to him, but was promptly ignored. He hadn't heard the horse males say much, unlike the fox woman.
Sarah was urged to eat from the bag. There was resistance, but it was overcome by hunger. When Sarah seemed to cooperate, the bag was strapped to her face and the horse left the pen.
He tried talking to the fox again. "Please..I know you can hear me."
"Communicating with the subjects," she said, not looking at him. "Only makes this harder."
