Jon was humming happily as he busied himself with the morning chores when Zoe came down for breakfast.
Zoe was so pleased that her mom's date had gone well. She hadn't seen him this happy since...well a very long time.
"Morning mom!" Zoe said cheerfully as she sat down and helped herself to bowl of fruit. She was hungry but she had a diet to maintain, she was after all the head cheerleader.
"Good morning honey." Jon replied back giving his daughter a once over. "Cute outfit." He said smiling.
Zoe beamed. "Thanks mom." Zoe was currently wearing a pink halter top and a white pleated skirt. Her blonde hair was curly and swept over so that it fell on to her left shoulder. She wore silver diamond shaped earrings and a matching heart pendant hung around her neck.
Zoe knew that she was hot but it was nice sometimes to have someone to tell you that, even it was her mom.
Jon noticed Zoe's frown. "What's wrong honey?" He asked sitting down opposite her.
"It's just that seeing you with Lucy and how happy you've been since your date. It makes me..." She paused as she wiped a tear away while being careful not to ruin her makeup. "It's makes me wish that I had something like that."
Jon, heartbroken, got up and went over to Zoe pulling her into a tight hug. "Honey!" He said soothingly. "I'm sure that you'll find someone soon. You deserve to have someone special.
And I'm also sure that if you keep dressing like that all the boys will be flocking towards you. They just haven't noticed you yet and it's a crime that they haven't."
Zoe and Jon smiled at each other. "Thanks mom." Zoe said laughing a little. Her mom always knew what to say to make her feel better.
"Now dry those tears." Jon said returning to his breakfast. "We don't want your makeup to get ruined and eat your breakfast. You too honey." He said as Mikey entered.
