Kibo and Zetsubo began following me around after I recruited them. Another male approached and I named him Aether. He was about my size and tan with a brown ring around his thorax and abdomen. He chittered at me and I recruited him as well. I found another in the corner that I wanted for self defense. He was a bit of a femboy with his long hair and brown spider body. It was ringed by tan and the top had white stripes. I named him Astra and the drider cooed at me as soon as I recruited him to our side. That was four out of five slots filled. I wanted to wait to see if there was anyone else was impressive. Aether was a sporty guy with curly hair. We hung out together for a couple days before the hunger set in. No one came to the nest to get us. When a female went over to a random male, no one was the wiser. She sniffed at him and then bit him in the neck. The male cried out in pain and horror as he was eaten by her. That was the trigger as other females began attacking the males too. Even some of the other males began to cannibaIize the corpses and attacking. My group was all together.
I played general and instructing them on how to defend themselves. The runt pair used their web attacks and the rest of us use our claws and fangs. Using that strategy and the fact that we were held up in the corner of the nest to our advantage, we were able to repel a lot of attackers. I noticed the webs the runts were using were white instead of black. We even were able to kill a pair of females that were too overzealous in their attacks. It was a quick way for us to level up quick. When they finally all got the message that they were not going to kill us without a fight, they left our corner alone. We then began to eat up the corpses of the fallen enemies. That gave us some of the heretical traits. "Cannibalism" and "Kin Slayer" gave us all access to some serious buffs. We got access to latent dark magic power. Not only that, but we also got stronger and faster for it. Eating also allowed us to level up even further. By the time that the cave was opened, there were only 46 of us left. Only 29 of us were males. It was so high only because the others took a page from our playbook and fought off the females.
When we got taken out of the nest, we were taken to an adult male drider for training. The females were taken from us. We needed to learn how to hunt in the forest and to serve the whims of the females in the colony. We had a large and harsh learning curve. Some of us got killed by the other monsters in the forest. My party was fine to go since we were leveled up. I also made sure to instruct them on how to level further and develop. Since I was so used to playing as driders in the game, I had the skill tree practically memorized in full. My main game plan was to get down to the point where we could unlock the dark magic tree so we could get the "Evil Eyes". It was part of the tree opened by doing heretical acts. As time went on, we became hunters and pretty good at it. It took some skill in archery. Aether and Astra were really good at the archery. Kibo and Zetsubo were excellent with webs. I did the best with the magic. I did not like having to be subservient to the females. However, I just had to grin at them and bear the situation. The others did not seem to even notice that anything was wrong.
