It's why Lucas - albeit unknowingly - makes that distinction herself. She called her "Neruite" as "Selene" because she felt the "distancing" increase - a kind of distancing even Neruite would have (because even the Chaotic Good are clear-minded enough to know what the "greater good" is), but go tell that to an angel of chaos that's annoyed at not getting to swoop in. ;)
AKA: She reacted well (or, as well as could be expected), and she understood just why she shouldn't act, but her annoyance still manifested itself in the name - as polite as she was, and, as pointed out, she was very polite.
