"Bye mom!" She said happily as she headed out of the house.
"Have a good day at school honey!" Her mom called out after her.
She headed toward school. It felt like she'd been in a tunnel and was finally coming to the end of it.
Sarah entered the school building and went toward Karyn's locker. She took a few moments to swap the locks between it and her old locker, then put swapped some stuff.
"Hey, Sarah," Heather said, coming up, followed by Laura. They were both athletic...although not tomboys to the degree Sarah was. Laura was on the school's girl's lacrosse team and Heather was on the swim team.
"Umm...hi guys," she said. "What's up?"
"I heard this rumor that the football team is going to be learning how to dance," Heather said.
"Dance?" Sarah said. "That's weird."
"I think it is the principal's idea or something."
Sarah paused. She wondered why Laura and Heather were being so nice to her. She barely knew them. But she was't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
