Meanwhile Jon and Zoe stepped out of the clothing store carrying what seemed like dozens of bags on each arm. They were giggling with each other as they headed towards the car.
"Oops," Jon said. "I think we got a bit carried away there sweetie." He said to Zoe as he adjusted his arm to stop the bags from falling off.
"Sorry mom" Zoe said. "There was this dress that I just had to have." She gushed.
"Well, it was a good job that there was a sale on." Jon replied. "I don't think we could have afforded all of this otherwise." He said as they reached the car.
They put the bags in the boot and then Jon drove them home.
"I'm glad that you got some clothes as well mom." Zoe told him.
"Oh well that dress was so cute." He said. "And that sales assistant was so friendly and helpful. She just kept bringing me more things to try and I couldn't resist."
Zoe nodded.
Eventually they arrived home. Jon parked the car in the drive and they carried the bags into the house.
"Linda! Karyn!?" Jon called out. "We're home!" As Jon expected Linda didn't appear but Karyn came out of the living room. Her jaw dropped when she saw Jon and Zoe.
