“Hey Nessa,” Jonchelle greeted her girlfriend as they met up at their usual place before school. Vanessa looked up from her phone and smiled, planting a kiss on Jonchelle’s cheek.
“Hey babe, ready for another week of school?”
Jonchelle nodded. “Yeah, I can’t wait to see the results of our wish. I wonder how many people have decided to stick with it.” They started walking into the schoolyard, joining the throng of the other students. Jonchelle kept looking around looking for any signs of her wish.
Vanessa chuckled. “You know, it occurred to me… We probably will never know which ones decided to stay since we didn’t actually know who was thinking of changing back.”
“True, but you said that Monika was thinking about it. I wonder if she has decided to hold on for a little longer.” They stopped at their respective lockers—which, fortunately, weren’t too far from each other—and grabbed the books that they would need for their first class. Seeing that they had a few minutes before the bell rang they decided to stop and chat for a while.
“What’s up girls?” Ryan asked cheerily as he walked over to them. He put an arm around each girl and squeezed himself in between them. “Have a good weekend?” Both Jonchelle and Vanessa nodded.
“Yeah, I did, actually,” Jonchelle replied. “My mom and brother decided to change back to their original selves though...so now there's five girls in the family.” Ryan gave a wicked grin.
“Five girls eh? Man, I would like to be a part of that family.” Jonchelle rolled her eyes but giggled. “So Zoe’s back to being a goth is she?” Jonchelle shook her head.
“Nuh-uh. Zoe and I had a talk and she agreed to tone it down a little. She’s back to being a...more normal girl.”
The bell rang, breaking up the conversation, and the three friends departed for their first classes of the day.
