Jon noticed that Linda was standing there and turned to face her. "Morning sweetie." He said. "I hope that you're going to be better behaved today."
He frowned a bit...had she taken her clothes for today out of the hamper? They looked wrinkled. What would people say?
The doorbell rang and she went to get it. "Rebecca...I wasn't expecting you this morning."
"I thought I could give Linda a lift..." she offered. "Since you are going to be busy here."
"That's so thoughtful."
"That's what friends are for," Rebecca said.
Jon looked pleased. "Linda...Miss Fine is going to give you a lift today. Are you ready to go?"
"I can go myself...I don't need a lift," Linda called from the kitchen.
"After your behavior yesterday, I want you to go with her. Can you drop her off on your way home?" Rebecca nodded. "And she'll drop you off on her way home. You are still grounded."
"But..."
"No, buts..." Jon said. "Finish your breakfast. I have to bring Mikey up something," she said, making up a tray for him.
Miss Fine smiled. "You can control the radio," she told Linda.
Linda rolled her eyes. They headed toward the car. She got into the passenger seat. Miss Fine gunned the engine and they started out of the driveway.
"You know, Linda...I didn't expect you to keep having these outbursts. But, ultimately, it is something that we can work on." She stopped a few blocks from the house, reached into her bag and sprayed something in Linda's face.
A few seconds later, she started up the car again, Linda now unconscious. "I do like a challenge."
