My favorite sport of the the ones offered this season was football. I like playing on the defensive line because I could catch interceptions and sack the quarterback. That was always fun. When they saw my second choice, they also signed up for it. They wanted to compete with me directly. A mission popped up. It said "Join a sports team roster. Rewards: "Jock" status, Metrec- Relationship up, Tokac- Relationship up. Failure: Reputation down, Metrec- Relationship down, Tokac- Relationship down." I had to look the tings up in the menu. Relationships generated by impactful interactions with other characters. Apparently I would be set to Friends with Benefits with them if I won and Hate Sex if I lost. The Jock status would make it easier to interact with other characters that were playing sports. It also gave a buff to athletic skills both in and out of the sports I chose. I then went on line to get my lunch. I picked at it as it would not affect my real hunger. There were many tables to sit down at. I chose one with the rabbits. I liked bunnies in real life and they were herbivores, so I doubted they would attack.
Once I sat down at the table, they looked at me curiously. "What are you playing at, human!?" one of them asked. I shrugged and said "I needed a spot to sit down at." It was true and I kept my cards close to the chest. "And you couldn't sit with the other humans? You better not try to pull anything crazy. Everyone saw you mess around with those dragons." another said. I just said "Yeah. You got a problem with that. Just eat." They rolled their eyes and went back to their food. After the lunch period was finished, I went to my other classes. The first hour of school was spent on one extracurricular activity and the other hour was spent on the second. Tryouts were going to be split into two sessions because of this. The first session was Cross Country, Tennis and Golf. That meant that I was to go to the tennis courts. I did not worry about a single thing. The game had been out for 20 years. Of course there was a cheat code menu. I opened it and boosted my speed and strength. The true downside of using cheats was that all of the NPCs took a -10 penalty to opinion of you. They just found you... off.
Session 1 of the tennis tryouts started with some laps and stretches to warm up. Murgred, Metrec and Tokac were all there muscling in on me to make me mess up. It is easy to tell when someone was making mistakes or being a bad actor. It was clear to me at least. They even tried to blatantly trip me as they ran past them. The best way to deal with that was to just outrun them. The first thing tennis activity was hitting 10 balls fed to us by a machine on the opposite end of the court. The first ten were supposed to be with the forehand. I did them and the next one was Tokac. He was able to hit them, but he sent them soaring into the gate. "Hey! Keep the the balls in play the best you can." the coach, a middle aged, male golden retriever said. I saw him grumble as he tried to moderate his strength. It took him a few shots into the net before he figured it out. They all had problems with that. I just smirked to myself as I watched. After that we went up to hit our 10 backhands. My backhand was one handed. Next were the serves. I put my all into them in order to show off. Most of them were in.
