Miss Fine had barely sat down at her desk when a big muscular teenager barged into her office.
"What did you say to my girlfriend to make her break up with me?" He demanded.
She frowned. "Who is your girlfriend?"
"Sarah McMillan."
"Oh..." she said, forcing a smile. "You must be Biff. She mentioned you. Why don't you have a seat?"
He did.
"I don't know how you can be so angry when you are so tired," she said, soothingly. "Your eyelids are drooping..."
Biff had to be the most susceptible subject she'd ever had. Most people...she was more subtle. but a few words and Biff was out like a light. She learned to spot the good subjects during her training.
"Now, Biff," she said. "Why did Sarah break up with you?"
"Because she doesn't want to be my hot girlfriend anymore...she wants to be like Karyn..." he said, in a soft, disconnected voice.
Miss Fine raised a brow. Jon had talked a lot about Karyn in their sessions. She had taken advantage of that, and was trying to replace Karyn as Jon's best friend in order to speed her work.
She had too many irons in the fire to pick up Biff right now. She had an idea to keep him busy...and Karyn as well. "Biff, I want you to think about Karyn and Sarah," she said, softly.
"Okay..."
"They look a great deal alike...except for how they dress and act, don't they?"
"Yes..."
"Which one are you dating?"
"Sarah..."
"No, Biff...you must be confused...Karyn is the one you care for...you're not interested in Sarah at all."
"Not..." he mumbled.
"I know how easy it is to mix them up. But it is Karyn you want back..."
