"This should be interesting" Zoe thought to herself. She entered the kitchen and had to stifle a laugh. Jon was moving around the kitchen and he was wearing mom's apron.
"Oh hi Zoe." He said spotting her. "I thought that I would cook tonight. Give mom a break, I hope you don't mind?"
Zoe shook her head. "Not at all Jon" She said hiding a giggle.
Once everyone had sat down Jon served out the food. "Tuck in" he said happily. He was quite proud of what he had created. Sure it was only spaghetti but it looked good. He just hoped that his family liked it as well.
"Oh, Jon." Zoe said after a few mouthfuls. "This is delicious. You should cook more often."
Jon beamed at her. This must be how his mother felt when she cooked for them. "Thanks Zoe. Miss Fine said that I should learn how to cook more."
"Who's Miss Fine?" Zoe asked.
"She's the new guidance counselor at the school." Linda explained. "She stopped by this afternoon to introduce herself."
Zoe thought that this was a bit odd but she said nothing about it.
"Oh Mikey" Jon said changing the subject. "I was doing the laundry earlier and I noticed that your room was a bit messy. Do you mind tidying up once in a while? At least put your clothes in the hamper." He asked.
"But Jon!" Mikey whined.
"No buts" he said.
"First Jon's cooking and now he's doing the laundry?" Zoe thought to herself. "And he sounded exactly like mom just then." Maybe it had something to do with this Miss Fine mom told her about.
