Sarah was heading to meet up with her friends. Being very different than Zoe, the person who had lived as Jon's sister before, she didn't have the same ones.
As she tried to take a shortcut around the back of the school, she suddenly smelled smoke. She took a moment to investigate and found an older girl smoking a cigarette in the bushes.
The girl looked almost...embarrassed by the discovery. She dropped the cigarette and stamped it out with her shoe, then sprayed some aerosol to get rid of the smell.
"Aren't you one of the girls from that Christian club?"
Zoe looked at her. "Why? Do you want to join?"
"No, I mean...you're smoking..."
"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it...Corinthians 10:13," Zoe said.
